I am astounded by the detail and the perfection of these miniatures. Thanks for reminding me.

it's quite a quiet smile, this, or it was for me anyway - last night around 6.30 I went into the garden and the birds were all singing their heads off. Dawn chorus? Just try a dusk chorus! I walked to the front of the house which faces west and saw the sunset (albeit behind houses) and more birds singing loudly. And then I managed to capture this little chap on camera, and I smile whenever I look at it:

So many things to smile at this morning:

Jackson knows the meaning of the word “no” but he chooses to ignore it most of the time. Cats!!
Replace Jackson with Rosey and that works perfect. There is a special look in her eyes when I say "No". I think she takes my "no" as a dare.
@Lyudmila: the miniatures are awesome.
@Mabel: A perfectly wonderful photo of a perfectly beautiful dusk.
Thank you all.
Carole

Lyudmila, that is simply astounding. How is it possible? OK, I do know intellectually, but knowing how it can be done is not the same as having the muscle control needed. Simply amazing.
Regards,
Richard.

I love blackbirds, and I suspect that if I had a totemic animal, that bird would be it. Their evening song is the most beautiful sound; a lovely note to the end of the day.

We have the usual birds feeding in our front garden and yesterday we saw a Yellowhammer and a pair of Wagtails.

Serinde, the bird in the picture is I think a robin - he certainly sounded like one, and I think he's the wrong shape for a blackbird. There was one of those singing away on a nearby TV aerial!

And you don't even need to be a cat to enjoy it...!

Fair enough. Robins also stay up relatively late.

Did see that one yesterday, Wendy. Love it.
Now, in the fact it's not cats, I'm breaking the mould a little:
