Well, it's been an age since I posted! Partly cos not been well, partly cos not been in mood to go on-line much. Anyway - I have now done 7 pages, though I have to admit page 7 only had a wingtip on it!

Here he is. Not a very good pic, I'm afraid - he looks much better in the flesh - um - you know what I mean! :)

Hello ladies! Been an age since I've posted, but I've now completed stitching the actual chart:
Image

However, as you can see, from this photo of part of the book cover (below), the tip of the tail was not included on the chart for some reason - possibly because the extremity of the tail is so narrow even a single stitch is probably too wide to chart:

Image

Anyway, I'm going to attempt to add it and see what happens. Also, I'm going to attempt to fill in the missing part of the flame, which I plan to do by copying the relevant part of the flame already done, and reversing it.... watch this space!

I've also decided not to try to backstitch any of it (with the possible exception of the teeth... maybe), because it looks ok from a distance, and because the stitches are single thread and trying to backstitch with single thread of the same weight will look clumsy, I think. (Besides which it's a very daunting prospect!) I'm just gonna hang it quite high up on the wall!

I've been offline for so long for 2 reasons:
1. Disinclination to go on-line! I spent far too much time trawling the net!
2. I have developed a 'trigger thumb' which is very painful at times, and it's the thumb I use to hit the spacebar, and to grip the stitching frame. I didn't have the problem until I started to use the snap frames. I thought at first it was using a DS that had done it, but I haven't used my DS for months now - but I have been using the snap frames. I think, when I have done this, I shall go back to my roll frame, because I can support that mainly on my fingers; I support the snap frame mainly on my thumb. Has anyone else had problems of this sort with snap frames? Or is it just me?

That is just gorgeous :applesauce: :applesauce: ! Good luck with the tail and flame, soundslike it will make it even better, though that's hardly possible he's so spectacular already. Hope the thumb gets better soon -- the snap frame may have made it worse, I find them very awkward to hold myself.
