Right, the wedding sampler is finished!
Now, to get up the motivation to go back to the dinosaurs...I'd forgotten how big the height chart was. (I told my dearly beloved that, he laughed at me and pointed out that it is 3 feet long and I shouldn't be surprised...you know those moments when you really love someone but could really slap them very hard?) I've washed out the gridlines, because I was starting to worry about whether they'd come out after however long it takes me to finish this whole thing. I'm going to put the actual measurement bit on last of all because I'm considering changing it to go up to 6 feet instead of just 5, so he gets plenty of use out of it...he's around 4 feet already!
Someone give me a poke to get me moving with this please!

No more teasing, there are pictures now!
Last time you saw this, it was the middle of July and it looked quite a lot like this
The individual dinosaur I was working on looked an awful lot like this.
I then had to put these guys aside to work on the wedding sampler (which they love and is now on the wall in their house). So, now that the wedding is over and I'm back to reality, I decided it was time to pick this up again. I decided to wash out the gridlines, and had changed my frame stand since then too, so had to put them on a new frame... Thursday evening I washed the lines out, Friday evening I put it on the frame (tricky at the best of times, fiddling around with fabric and masking tape and pieces of wood...) and yesterday and today were spent stitching and watching movies. Many, many movies. Lots of fun.
This is where I am now.

Thank you for all your positivity ladies, I'd have put this aside long ago if it weren't for you all! I'm even starting to think about finishing ideas (optimism!) I think I might try stitching Sam's name at the top of it, either just his name or something along the lines of "Sam's height chart", or "watch me grow!" maybe, then sew some kind of dinosaur-printed fabric (if I can find such a creature) on the back before putting dowelling at the top and bottom and tying a nice cord to the top to hang it on the wall - as suggested by the picture in the magazine (all the way back on page one). I'll have to keep my eye out for suitable fabric, if anyone sees any in the mean time please shout up, I'd really appreciate it!

I like the ideas you have for your finish. I'm sure you'll be able to find some appropriate cloth when the time comes
