It's a shame you'r not enjoying the butterflies as they are so beautiful.

I'm sure the back stitching will enhance the design and that you'll see that it was all worthwhile.

I think it's looking fantastic.

My DMC project has a ton of backstitch too, and I haven't started but I feel your pain. I've seen other people's progress though where the backstitching much such a huge difference to the final product. I hope it won't bug you too much though!

The butterflies creep closer to completion!!

About 1/3 of the backstitch left to do plus the gold metallic couched border.

The tree and all the leaves are done. All I need to finish is the wind. So close!!

Both designs are gorgeous! I'm mesmerized by the background of the butterfly design... It really makes the butterflies stand out!

Great work on the butterflies! Good luck with the rest of the backstitch. Since I started backstitching an area once I'd finished it, backstitch doesn't bother me like it used to.

I love your angel and that AAN tree is gorgeous. I hadn't heard of her before, but now I'm searching for a pattern to do! 'Cause I need more.. always!
