school caps
(This is a very British thing: it used to be that boys in primary school wore -- usually flannel -- shorts to school. Winter and summer. I have photos of my boys in their school uniforms of blazer, white shirts, navy sweater, school tie, grey shorts, grey long socks and black shoes. They didn't need a cap; their father still has his, though!)
