Excellent question Rose!! I am determined that it does not go in the 'Stitched never to be seen again pile' and will not spend too long in the 'Stitched and waiting to be finished/framed pile'! @rotfl:

The beads are definitely there but very subtly so -- great choice!

Amanda,

I saw your tree both here and on TSS, and it is really beautiful. I haven't started mine yet, but hope to do so shortly. I finally decided on my materials for The Great Escape and placed my order for 10 silks and two cuts of fabric. When those arrive, one cut will be for TGE and the other may be for TOS. I'm not sure whether to use the same silks for TOS or to order more, so I'll do a floss toss when they arrive. Hopefully I'll have both stitched up by year end.

I love the tree it looks awesome with the added bling, just the right amount, enough to give it some sparkle but not too much so as to distract from the speciality stitches...Congrats on a lovely finish. :applesauce:

Believe is looking wonderful too, I love the colours in it and how the background looks really, I dunno...ethereal I guess!

Can't wait to see your freebie Chatelaine stitched up too, You certainly have a lot on the go atm!

Oh btw, I got an email from Martina re the upcoming Butterfly Lace SAL and OMG  it looks absolutely dreamy! I can't wait to see your start on that too, when does it start again so I can keep my eyes open for it?

Not a fan of trees as cross stitches but that really looks wonderful.

Am no expert with beads so cannot judge but it simply looks great as it is but if push came to shove, I do feel that it needs a lil something just to make it WOW!!

It starts in November - only 2 months to go.....! The latest update for it is just gorgeous! I haven't decided yet whether I am going to buy the threads for it (once I get my paws on the material list!) over a few months - or buy the kit from ECC when it is released. It would be a lot of ££ all at once and then there is the customs stuff which doesn't make it that much cheaper - can you tell I'm not a risk taker... @rotfl: ! What are you going to do when you start your mystery in January? I also really want to stitch Evening in the Park - so don't know which one I will start first.....

Ooo not long then? Can't wait to see your start on it. I love Evening in the park too, the swans are lovely and the lamps really look like they glow don't they?

As for my mystery I have a cunning plan  I have asked several family members if they wouldn't mind getting me some stitchy stash for christmas this year, they have all agreed to this  I'm not sure if the mystery kit will be available on the ECC, but if it is I will ask them to get me ECC gift certificates for Christmas and get my stash all in one go ready for the start in Jan.

To be honest I've researched some of the prices of silks and they are very expensive and it looks like buying the kit from ECC works out cheaper than sourcing everything individually....I priced up the Chinese garden mandala (one I would LOVE to do) individually and I got it to about £270, whereas ECC sells the lot for the equivalent of £197 (plus postage of course) so any extra I may have to pay if the package is stopped by customs would be well worth it.!

I'm kinda hoping my mystery kit does come out on the ECC...A) its cheaper, B) saves me a lot of time and energy sourcing stash, which of course C) leaves me more time to stitch!!

All the other mysteries have kits so I expect deep blue sea will too but I don't know what the waiting time will be for them. I did exactly the same as you and priced everything up and it still came out cheaper even with customs costs. I can't believe that some stitchers kit up several of these at a time  ! For some reason evening in the park reminds me of The Lion,The Witch and The Wardrobe ( when the BBC did their tv series )- must be something to do with all those lamp posts!

Here is Springtime Roses (Chatelaine Freebie) finished, started 3 September :

Really enjoyed stitching this one - can't wait for my big Chatelaine to start in November! For those that like the details this was stitched on 32ct cream Belfast with DMC threads, Caron Waterlillies Mountain Meadow, Thread Gatherer Silk n Colour Honeyed Turquoise and Petite Treasure Braid in Pale Gold and Pearl White. The border is a version of rice stitch and there are a few algerian and diamond eyelets too. Don't ask me what I am going to do with it! I think it would make a nice box top but I've never done that as a finish before!

Think I'll go back to Believe now. I want to finish QS Believe and SK Butterflies Galore for the next HAED Reward Programme intake and make a good dent in QS Dragonfly by the end of the year - with some of Mabel's Hardanger thrown in for good measure. Then I can make a fresh start in the new year with a HAED BAP, Butterfly Lace Mandala and plod on with Starry Night with Tardis. That's the plan - but who knows what else I'll find that I just *have* to stitch between now and then @rotfl: !
