Your French Knots look great to me! They add a lot to the piece, which btw, is getting better and better each day! My husband saw it and loved it, said if we have a baby boy one day it'd look good in his room. Hmmmmm, wish list.

I've done some more french knots, varying the size of 'em - one loop or two loops of 5-strand. One part of the design I'm going to use 4-strand, though - on the left side splash so that I can use a loop start on them, which I can't with 5 strands, and it makes the back very bulky and messy, and SO difficult to keep the thread from showing behind the holes. :-x

Dying to backstitch his eyes - but I think he might jump right out of the frame if I stick needles in him after they're done! So I'm going to do them last!

   It takes a brave stitcher to stick a needle into a tiger's eyes!!! Better you than me!! LOL I do know what you mean though, doing the backstitching on his eyes and nose, etc will definitely make him come to life!!

He's looking magnificent!

Apart from any other reasons, keeping the eyes till last gives you a "reward" to work towards; perhaps you don't need that sort of encouragement, but I always find it helps get me to the end of a piece :-)!

I left my Tiger's eye till last,it was a real treat to see them back stitched,I kept switching between an unbackstitched picture to a back stitched one, because I couldn't believe how much of a difference it made  :)

As for changing things to cover up mistakes, I challenge anyone who has never had to do that! Besides, it makes every work unique. Well done.
