I've been taking a break from my normal stitching to do a little card for a colleague who is having an operation and will be off work for 6 weeks, and it coincides with her birthday. When she saw me stitching a Christmas card for DH she jokingly hinted when her birthday is so I would stitch her a card, but she doesn't know I made a mental note of it. Anyway, here's what I stitched for her:


My next card will be a Mother's Day one which I'm hoping I'll be able to get done in time. It was Mum who taught me to stitch and she's been a seamstress for many, many years, so I thought this was rather apt:


and here's my start on it (although, disturbingly, the hair reminds me of John McEnroe!):

for the birthday card and for the Mother's Day card. That is sooooooo adorable your mother will be so pleased. Great start on it. I think the hair is cute.

Mother's day is 18th March in the UK so I think I have left it too late to stitch a card especially as we are moving on thursday!
