:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce: Stunning update! You are making fantastic progress on this.
Congratulations on more pages completed. Looking forward to your updates. Now is the time to think about the next Dahlig chart with a 1/2 off sale. Which one (s) are you thinking of? They are all so gorgeous.

This is so lovely  :applesauce: I'm not surprised you want to start a new one as they take so long but good on you for resisting, what are you planning next?

I wanted to start Dahlig's "Adolescence" which I have in my stash. But the sale provided to be too much for me and I brought Aimee Stewart's Treasure Hunt (normal size). I'm planning on stitching this a bit differently though... I'm going to stitch a long skinny panel centered on the girl with the lantern. I'm also thinking I may at a later point consider stitching two other skinny panels ( to make three long and skinny pieces I would frame separately)... So I'm going to start the Treasure Hunt Piece. Here is the section I'm going to stitch :)

This is stunning! I'd seen the pattern before and was kinda meh about it until I saw yours. I love all tI may.. I looked at it on the HAED site and the colors are much lighter on their image compared to your photos.. does the actual piece look lighter than it is photographing, or is it really stitching up darker than the image? I actually prefer the darker more brooding look... it makes it a piece I may actually consider stitching!

I was the same way about this chart when I first saw it. There is a lot going on in it and I felt that it might come across as a bit busy. That's why I think doing a panel like this is effective in this situation. It is a lovely design and very colorful... I've realized one of the reasons I've enjoyed stitching Umbrella sky so much is the bold and strong colors... I really do just love color!

The pic I used was copied from a different source to the HEAD site. I also prefer the richer colors on this. When I start stitching I will post some pic and it we will be able to see what's happening in terms of color then :)

Nooo.. I was talking about Umbrella Sky.. It looks so much more dark and brooding in your pictures than it does on the image on the HAED design.

I do like your cropping of treasure hunt too - it is such a large piece that it's just busy. You cropping captures the sense of the piece.. hunting for just the right book... something I can relate to!

Whoops my bad ;) Misinterpreted that!
It is difficult to say for certain with variables such as computer monitors and the different lighting situations.

Having said that, I would say: In my stitching-
Her hair is definitely darker and redder (lots of 814 in there), there is more purple/mauve in the sky at the top, there is lots of black-310, 3371 and 814 along the two bottom rows-which makes this part look darker and redder than the HAED photo. The part of her dress just below her hand (my most recent update) seems darker than the HEAD picture. But her dress just below the arm (the brightest part) seems lighter-being comprised of mainly 3801. If you have these cottons in your stash somewhere I would suggest getting them out to reference them against the picture :)

I am satisfied with the way it has translated into the stitching... I have only changed the color in one section (of the background) because I wasn't happy with the way it looked.

Here is a mock up of the finished piece... this shows the mauve in the sky more accurately... and some of the other parts as well. Hope that helps :)

You've done a wonderful job!

And I love the crop of the treasure one, the triptych idea is so very clever.

Beautiful update  :applesauce: :applesauce: What a fantastic idea to crop Treasure Hunt Bookshelf it looks very effective, I am doing this one too I've done 2 pages normal size. Dahlig's Adolescence is very pretty I'd have trouble choosing!
