Your little dragon is delightful, and the fabric is beautiful! *makes mental note to find out about DoveStitch grab bags*

Delica beads I think are supposed to be more cylindrical whereas seed beads are meant to be rounder -- more suited to bead-weaving than seed beads are, apparently

I love the robot name, such a cheerful and colourful alphabet.

With charts like your newest stitching we may see an increase in male stitchers

nikecam wrote:"patently obvious" did make me smile. certainly not our grandmother's cross stitch!
 He he, I said it wouldn't be to everyone's taste!! Still, vive la difference and all that.

Now, the nameplate. I finished the last bit of backstitch on 'S' last night,

Bit of a weird one this. Am hoping it'll look ok with the rest of the name around it.

Have made a start on Patently Obvious, and let me tell you, I have renewed admiration for you HAED-ers!! It's not a big piece by any means but it's almost entirely confetti. I generally take reasonable pride in the back of my work, but the back of this ... well, I've given up trying to keep it neat! It's one stitch here, two there. There are about 30 colours dotted all about the place. And for the first time I have employed the loop method, I can now see the sense in it!!

Have done about 25%. Nearly gave up twice in that time. Anyway, I'll persevere (? is that spelt right?). It's very different - technique-wise - to projects I would usually choose, so I'm seeing it as good practice!

Like you, dragon's aren't really my thing, although I can admire the work that goes into them, but I really like the one you've done and the fabric is amazing. :applesauce: :applesauce:
Great little S as well. Looking forward to seeing all the letters together.

Time for a little update.

I have completed another letter for the nameplate,

Image

The backstitch on this is beginning to get wearing, but I'm liking the way it's coming together.

This is my progress on Patently Obvious,

Image

Not heaps of work done but I am trying to do this as a surprise for hubby and he seems to be about a lot of the time recently! He's out Monday so am hoping to do some more on it. Despite a difficult start, it seems to be developing ok. Won't be one of my favourite ever pieces tho, but it's a fun little thing.

And the Angel has had a revival. I was getting tired of her hanging around so I put some effort into her and remembered how much I enjoyed working on her. Note to self, though, next time I'll choose a piece with more colour!! The white, ecru, cream combo is testing my patience ... and I haven't even started on the wings yet! Have to say, however, I'm delighted with the fabric choice.

Image

As you can see, I've completed the gold sashes, and she has a sleeve now! I have a section of blues on the bodice to do now which'll make a change!

The angel is beautiful and well worth the misery of the creams and beiges.
The other two are looking great too.
