You're getting on so well in spite of things conspiring to keep you from stitching -- well done

I unexpectedly got more time to work on this tonight since DH had to go with his dad on an emergency call (the alarm on some one's subpump--pumps water out of crawl spaces--was going off again). I probably should have only stitched for an hour after dinner since the kids needed baths and to go to bed at a decent time since we are traveling tomorrow, but I just couldn't put the stupid thing down! I forced myself to put it away after an hour and a half because it was the kids' bedtime and they still needed baths. Plus, I didn't know if DH would call when he was on his way home. That's the last thing I need this close to the end! Especially since the kids have kept the secret since the beginning of August! I'll pick this back up on Monday since we are busy all weekend and post pics before DH gets home Monday.

Hi Busy_B, I have belatedly caught up with this thread and have so enjoyed seeing your project develop. It's stunning!

You must be so pleased with how it's coming on.
Reading this thread in one go has been like a little novel, and I have found myself getting quite excited at the prospect of will you/won't you finish in time!! I'm hooked now. Next instalment soonest, please!!

You made me laugh when I read this. Working on this has felt like a roller coaster with all of its ups and downs about whether or not it will get done. The next installment will come Monday since we are getting ready to head out of town today for a family Christmas party (about 5 hour drive round trip) and then have my family's Christmas party tomorrow here in town so I won't be able to work on it at all until DH is back at work Monday. I'm still stitching though. DH needs help finishing the tiger he's working on, so I'll be working on that in the van while he's driving.

Well, I ended up sneaking some stitching time last night. After we got home from visiting family, DH needed to work on the tiger that he's stitching for a few hours so I told him that I had a few things I needed to do in our bedroom. I closed the curtains that seperate our room from the kitchen and got about an hour and a half of stitching in. I would have stitched longer, but I took some of that time to set up about 15 threads of the two blended colors I have left. That way, when I pick it up on Monday, I won't have to set them up. All I've got left are the two colors for the sky and backstitch on the tree because I finished up the trees last night. I hopefully won't have to sneak any more time because then he might really think I'm up to something.

I'll post pics tomorrow.
