Thank you!

It's the designer, though, not me!

Update:

Image

I have also been obliged to get a stand. Came yesterday - just a basic, cheap stand, but it works. I managed to put it together properly all by myself too! But it means I can't sit in my comfy chair to sew anymore. So I have brought an ancient kitchen chair (used for standing on when decorating  ) into my lounge and set it all up beside a writing desk I use to store some of my sewing stuff (I have too much for it all to fit in there!

Image

And this is it with my old magnifying lamp behind it. Can't sew without that. You can also see my comfy chair, draped in protective throw to keep cat claws and fur at bay!

Looking fantastic! It's like a puzzle and we're waiting for you to find the last few pieces. I hope you can find a way to use the stand with your comfy chair. :)

:applesauce: :applesauce: for your progress.
I recently purchased a Stitchmaster stand (it looks like that is the make of yours)and I am very happy with it. I didn't want to pay too much ,but obviously needed a stand that would do the job..and I am very happy with mine,I can stitch more quickly too,an added bonus for me :)

I like the way the arms of your new stand appear to be adjustable to any-sized frame. Simple but very effective design. Some of them I've seen are very bulky and complicated.

I've been looking at floor stand daylight lamps because I'm finding I need very bright light but they are oh so expensive!

Love the tiger! :)

Yes, it is a Stitchmaster, meerkat! :)

dalronix, with postage and packing, it cost £33.68, which is very, very cheap for a floorstand! You can get a magnifying lamp and chart holder for it, too, if you want. Don't know how much they cost. Bought from Sew and So, uk, but I should think you could get something from the same maker from craft stores in Australia.
I need a bright light for stitching too. I've had my old magnifier lamp for years, and use it with a daylight bulb. It cost around £30 when I bought it, but they are more expensive now. The one that attaches to the Stitchmaster stand would be a lot cheaper I should think. And probably more convenient, too!

Thank you for all your nice comments, everyone! :D

WOW - this is looking amazing and I'm not normally one for animal charts! The picture of the piece on the stand makes it look more like an unfinished painting than a piece of stitching. Can't wait to see the finish on this one! Is that your TOS I can see in the background?

Sorry to go off topic for this post: I searched around Australian shops today and the cheapest I could get the Stitchmaster stand for was AUD$143.00 (£90) not including delivery. I ended getting it from Sew and So UK for AUD$80 (£50 including 5-8 day express courier delivery) which is a big saving. So much stuff of all types is so overpriced in Australia.

I can't wait for it to arrive.

After all that trouble, I hope you are as happy with it as I am! It's easy to put together, too, which is a bonus so far as I am concerned! :D

Meerkat! She posted me her chart - unmarked! She has the sense to use photocopies! But it is a Dimensions kit, if you want to get it, called White Lightning (or Eclair Blanc). Just be warned that the design calls for you to use 2, 4, 5, and 6 strands of thread! So far I have broken 5 needles! But he's well worth the effort and the needles!
