Here are two Amish people I stitched up for my partner, as she's obsessed with the Amish. While they were a super quick project, it was my first attempt at 26/28 count linen and my first 2 over stitch. The material was like a rough burlap.
You'll see two photos of the girl because at first I forgot her shoes! Whoops! I gave them to my partner at her office and she only brought the girl home for me to finish so I didn't photograph them together after the girl was fixed.

Very pretty. Looks like you didn't have any problem with the fabric at all. And I'm sure the Amish girl is pleased to have her shoes.

Two more minis done today.
Sorry about the piece of thread on the butterfly, only just noticed. Also they still appear to be sidewise although I changed them. It seems to take photobucket a while to catch up!

Last week I picked up the April 2013 issue of The Cross Stitcher magazine. The "free" gift was this keychain. It's a cool piece of wood. I managed to break two needles doing it! I was away for the weekend and wasn't paying attention to the chart while in our hotel room with dim lighting so the edges have extra stitches but I'm VERY pleased with it.
I plan to give it to my mom as part of her Mother's Day gift Sunday.

I have seen a similar pendant as that keychain and it is on my wishlist...
