So delicate but vibrant!

I see that you are using a 'Q' snap (or similar) what is the clamp you are using to hold it?
I've just bought one of these plastic snap frames and although it sits nicely on my Aristo lap stand I find it a bit thick to hold in my hand.

The clamp that's holding the q-snap type frame is attached to my Daylight stand. Not ideal, at it wants to hold something flat.

I'm dealing with a WIP pile-up at the moment. Quite a few small things, luckily, but many of these need to be finished by the date of my EG meeting this month. So that's a four gift tags from Faby Reilly, a small hardanger ornament freebie from Kreinik, a new SAL over at Ravelry which is called "Winter Hare in the Rosehips" (from new-to-me Scottish designer Goodflora Stitchwort) and the ongoing Zoe SAL, which is a delight. On the back burner at the moment is Debbie Morgan's Tall Year Square etui, the "Sublime Stitches" sampler from Elizabeth Almond and (yikes) Ruth Sanderson's Christmas Fairy (so old HAED no longer sells it...)

I wanted to start the Hare yesterday, and took the precaution of runnning guidelines on my fabric... which is really too small a piece unless I stitched it over 1 (no. just no). (Did I mention ?) I really don't want to buy a fat quarter of Zweigart Pearl Grey 32ct!! so any ideas as to what colour I might substitute would be handy. The thread colours are muted (shades of brown and grey -- it is a hare, after all) with white for snowflakes and flashes of red. Don't have much 32ct except neutrals, alas, but that might just have to do.

I feel a New Year's resolution forming... actually I have been tidying up some old small kits and cards -- all for the Guild Sales Table, which is helpful.

I was looking through earlier pics in your thread but they all seem to have disappeared - what sort of ground are you looking for for your hare? I might have something stashed away...

All the images were stored by tinypic, which is now defunct, so nothing now shows. I can't bring myself to use Postimages (sleazy advertising or what?) and refuse to pay for the privilege, so I'm stuck.

The Hare wants a light pearly grey or similar background. I have that slightly-too-small piece in 28ct which is a blue-grey Mystery Linen Fabric. In fact, most of my fabric is 28ct and my 32cts are all white or cream. (I do have some 28ct lovely colours, mostly shades of green, but nothing quite right for this, although what about a medium purple... sunset or sunrise but probably too dark.)

Ah - as I use an adblocker I've never seen any ads on Postimage, so the sleaze has passed me by. I can recommend that route!

I've had a look in my stash but like you only neutral 32s and 36s; plenty of colour in 28 (though a lot of it cotton or cotton-mix) including a muted cool (I mean not too pink) lilac/lavender/mauve (never sure which is which) and a dusky pink (ashes of roses?) which might work; possibly a light (but not this pale) blue, or a very light sage-y green - let me know if you'd like pics

Stitchwort is a good name for a designer, by the way

I use imgbb.com to upload my photos. I used to have a Flickr account but it expired and didn't want to renew and I can never see images on here that are uploaded by postimages

Guess what? I was rootling around in my fabric stash looking for other likely candidates... and found the actual piece of the Mystery Fabric which I had cut to size for this project! Turns out I was dealing with the offcut. So all's well in the fabric world, and thanks for your offer, Mabel.

I did install adblocker on your recommendation, Mabel, but it doesn't seem to be blocking ads, which is strange, so I don't know what's going on there.

I have finished the hardanger ornament, and it looks really nice. I'll take a photo and use something to upload it.

With the addblocker on, there are no problems with postimage except for having to use it instead of loading photos here straight from my machine.
Often I cant be bothered and thus many of WIPs and finishes never arrive here. I cant see how using a third site can add to security of the Forum.

Well, I think I got rid of the yucky images. So here goes:



The Kreinik freebie done in Caron threads (Flame and Emerald, I think) with Sulky thread (size 12) doubled in the needle and an ancient (really) freebie from New Stitches. Clearing out my bits and pieces.

I could have phrased that better! The "yucky images" refers to the images that come up when you click on the pic in the thread and the postimages site comes up. Luckily you shouldn't have to visit the site if you can see them in the forum thread.

I'm quite pleased with the little hardanger and who knows for how long that card has been hiding. It was a freebie from New Stitches magazine, issue 55 (I think I'll check... which makes it 1997!) Actually, that's quite a nice issue. Oh, no! a rabbit hole!

Both are for the November Sales Table, so any help with pricing will be greatly appreciated...
