I agree with everyone else, this is too precious a project to be worried over timescales, it's just to be enjoyed as it comes. I think you're doing brilliantly with this and I bet your Mum would be SO proud.

Occasionally I take it down to the lounge, where the picture is on the wall, just to look at the two and compare them

One more row down after the one I'm on then I'll be at the bottom of the page and get to work up again
Thank you all for your encouragement, as ever, and if I decide to do anything on this scale again remind me to use a much higher count fabric!
