So last year for a few of my Christmas gifts I stitched
Faby Reilly's Christmas Star and on the back put "Merry Christmas 2009". They were very well received (even if they weren't completely finished when they were given to the recipients) so this year I'm stitching the Holly Humbug as gifts except I've replaced the NOEL with 2010. I'm going to make 10 (that's how many will fit on to the piece of fabric I'm using).
So far I've stitched the backstitch edge of all 10 and done the stitching on the first one. I'll leave the beading for the holly until the end so that I don't have a problem using my qsnaps. The 2010 is stitched in S666 and E321. I was going to use S666 for all of the numbers but it after I stitched the 2 I realised that it would stand out too much, so stitched the 0 beside it in the metallic before I frogged the 2 and I liked the look of the two different threads together. I've also used E3821 for all the gold backstitch (by accident) instead of a combination of E3821 and E3852 but I think it works.

Lovely work. Is late and I think my brain is going to sleep, why does it say 10 on left hand side and 20 on right. I get its 2010 but can't figure out how this will work.

These are to be humbugs which are triangular pyramids. So to make the triangular shape you fold it in half so the 10 will circle around to meet the 20.
