I had thought of a mask...But!

The fabric is quite 'robust' so more suitable for apron/cushion etc!
I have a metre and it's 140cms wide so I could make 2 aprons but I think I will use the rest to make a Nice Big cushion for my (sewing) Poang chair! :D

This week I got a wonderful book (I'm amassing quite a library) and some deeper hoops I'd had my eye on (more details in FoF)

The new hoop compared to a standard one:

I dont stitch on hoops, but they look so attractive. I like things made of wood, maybe that's why I enjoy looking at your hoops.
The book looks interesting.

I love the hoops, they are really smooth to the touch and obviously well-made. I will admit to stroking the wood sometimes...

New smooth hoops are a necessity, I think. 8) An artist needs the perfect tools.
How amazing are the leaves on the cover of the book...

Look what I picked up on our holiday in a charity shop for the princely sum of 50p:

I have that one. I found it second hand, too. Bit more than 50p but the previous owner had included several patterns from a magazine in the book some were similar designs as in the book.

I also got these, from a local ceramics artist: the magnet I'm using as a needle minder on the Lowery, the dish (meant for jewellery) now holds my used tea bags :-) - not very stitchy, but important anyhow!

That's a pretty little dish! I think that you are putting it to good use!
You enjoy tea so having pretty things around you only adds to your enjoyment. :D

A friend once told me that it's up to the recipient of a gift/purchase as to what use the item is used!

Yes, Wendy. Especially when you present a person with an expenbcive masterpiece of Lviv ceramics, and visiting 4 years later see it being used as a small rubbish bin for cherry stones, used tea bags and such like.

Pearls and swine spring to mind, Lyudmila, but a pretty little bowl is useful in so many ways. I inherited from my MIL many pretty china round objects about which I know nothing, including their original purpose, despite an effort to find out. I keep them on the dressing table, but one has found use in the dining room. It's important to use these thing, I feel.

You are right, Serinde, those things are meant to be used. And yes, it is up to the owner how to use them.

You know how I needed a coffee after buying most of the stash I need for 3 HAEDs plus some fabric for this wedding card. Now you can see why:

Is it because so many of the threads are coffee coloured :-) ?

(Have just placed an order for some wool. I needed new shades for a new design. Realised postage is £5 (that's over three skeins!) unless you order £50 worth. Ordered £51....)
