I have had a new sewing job arrived in the post today. I'm quite excited as it is a new Michael Powell design and I am stitchin a model for their trade show at the end of February. I have not worked for him before so am a bit nervous but looking forward to doing it. Sorry, no pictures of this one allowed!

Oh, good lord.

A lovely thank you letter from my uncle (with a slightly sarcastic message about the scarf and hat I embroidered for him - I stitched on the message "Let it snow", it wasn't meant to be a suggestion!) and yet another "while you were out" card from the post office.

I now have my sew and so order, some coasters and two bras waiting for my at the sorting office. I'll get up nice and early on Saturday so I can go and pick them all up.

I have received my Polstitches grab bag and the creative thread pack. They are simply WONDERful.

But. Can someone please advise me on what fabric and count would be suitable for Perle number 8 if I want to cross stitch with it?

Sounds lovely Agi! from my limeted experience, #8 should work more or less ike two strands of cotton, so anything that you would use two strands on!

Yesterday I received a pack of 15 skeins of floss I ordered for my HAEDs and also a DVD box set of Wild at Heart series 3. I received series 2 for Christmas so thought I'd treat myself to the next one! Then I watched 3 episodes last night while stitching.

A little red card advising that my stash is at the sorting office. I shall collect it on Saturday. Sew and So sent it recorded delivery for some reason, normally they just do first class.

Perhaps they weren't taking any risks what with postal delivery being a bit patchy with the weather. I've just ordered some linen from the for the Stashaholic sampler, and some more applique beading needles (the only ones I've found so far will work on 60ct), so looking forward to getting that!

Otherwise NOTHING yet, and I was so hoping to get the book of alphabets and sampler motifs that I won off eBay a few days ago :-(

i think it depends on the order value. paul ordered 2 kits off there for my b-day in aug totaling around £50 and they sent them recorded.

i got some magazine charts from slinky. my husband, who has never traveled abroad, was very confused by the envelope. i have to admit getting "royal mail" did make me feel international!

thanks for the winter charts, slinky!

Oh that might explain it Lisa. I bought a new magnetic board to fit my new stitching stand (preparing for HAED charts you see) and 4 bits of linen for my incredibly expensive christmas tree ornaments. Between buying the chart, silks, and fabric they're horrifically pricey. I've been buying bits in stages to spread the cost.

The fabric is the most expensive bit so I thought I'd take advantage of some Christmas money to buy it.

Yes, I received some goodies today!
I received a booklet from craftymathemetician....{hope I spelled that right, crafty!}
Some really cute welcome sayings for cross stitching.
And.....I received my order from Hersherner's!
Lots of floss I had ordered, and a thing to park your needles on.
Still looking for my material though, from another company.
This is all for the "A Little Girl and her Sheltie"!

Picked up the stash from the sorting office. It seems magnetic boards and post office machines aren't a good mix as it's been damaged and the envelope mangled. Thankfully I hammered out the worst of it and it's still usable. The fabric was all fine thank goodness.

And the board in use:

I went down to the sorting office yesterday and managed to pick up the coasters that I ordered over a week ago, I now have a set of 5 Christmas themed coasters (and a kit from Christmas to make into a 6th). Unfortunately didn't manage to pick up the other two packages I was hoping to get though, I'll try to pick them up one day next week.
