Mabel!!!
did I put my foot in it?
Actually I was thinking how effective it looked giving structure to the background!

Mind you, if you manage to have background showing with two over one on 28ct, then perhaps your tension is a teeny bit on the high side  -- are you sure you're not overdosing on coffee or something like that :-)?

Yup, I must be trying to stitch too fast!

( )

Bear in mind ladies that the flash of the camera will 'highlight' teensy white fabric flecks where none will be apparent to the naked eye. Louise, I bet the coverage of the stitching looks much fuller to you than the photo suggests ... ?

Great progress. :applesauce: :applesauce:

From some angles it looks all filled in & fine, then you move it a little bit & suddenly they all appear! :? I think I'm what I'll call an impatient stitcher, I do let the thread hang down to unwind if it gets a little tangled but would never consider anything as patient as railroading all the stitches....
Plus it's worse in places where the confetti means every alternate stitch is a different colour, if it's a solid block of one colour I stitch all at once, it's much less noticeable... maybe because it's not being pulled across one or two places on the back? :thinks:
I'm looking forward to my 3 day weekend to get well underway with Page 48, I've reached the folds/pleats of the skirt again!

I don't really railroad, either. I'm doing a model stitch right now that I figured I wanted everything to look a little 'neater' so I finally got my scroll frame to work for me  so I can use my lap stand. I actually use my nail on my non-stitching hand to split the threads as I pull the stitch instead of railroad after the stitch is made.

Turns out I've left this thread longer than I thought, I have another update for you...
Image
In 'real life' right now I'm at the same place on the row of pages below this, I'm on the last few bits of page 50 :) Just worked out this morning that means there are only 14 full pages left!!! - the rest are partial pages along the bottom row plus all the ones down the right hand side are just a single column of stitches.
Not sure how my target of finishing by the end of the year is going to go but I'm pleased (and surprised) at how much I'm still enjoying stitching her!

Oh goodie, another picture! Wow, you are getting on well, only 14 pages left! Wish I could say the same, I think there are 40 pages left of mine!

She's looking lovely, by the way, the bottom part of her skirt looks almost as if it's made of silk and not cross stitches.
