I love the contrasts in your mother and child designs

Here's one with rather less contrast, but I like the almost "watery" quality of it -- it's stitched on 20ct white aida using Caron Impressions (038 Morning Mist) and DMC blending filament (4300 pearl):
And here are the four together, to give some idea of their relative sizes (sorry the pic isn't very clear) -- from left to right they're done on 18ct, 20ct, 22ct and 24ct:
I was rather surprised at how little difference there was between the 22 and the 24ct!

They're beautiful. My favourite is probably the one on the red background for the contrast, but it's closely followed by the cream background as I love the variegation in that thread.

Your mother and child designs are gorgeous, my favorite is the one on the congress cloth, so striking.
Can't wait to see more of your bookmarks, great start to them.
And I really love your folk sampler, lovely finish.

Thanks for the picture of them together--they look so very pretty!! I really do love that design--can I be bold and ask where you got it from and if it is still available?

Karen, it's based on a freebie that Charmagne found for us, I think the link is in her thread, but I did make changes to it, so when you download it you'll have to play around with it to see what your version is going to be like!

Wow! Thanks for showing them all together. They are all so beautiful. They each have their own special qualities too because of the different effects of each one.

It was lovely to see DH's parents over the weekend -- not quite so leisurely as I'd expected, as MIL was rather glad to share the cooking as we had guests on the Saturday, but very relaxing. I managed some stitching too and finished another Madonna; they are so nice and unchallenging to stitch and i find it a little difficult to concentrate at the moment.
Anyway, here it is, on my last bit of 22ct aida, using Dinky Dyes silk and Madeira blending filament:
