Thanks, everyone!

I am quite pleased with him!

Also quite a relief not to have any more 4, 5 and 6-strand stitching to do!
Mrs Milkybar Kid wrote:WOW! This piece is awesome Fljots - 160 french knots!!?? I think the photos look amazing, so can only imagine how great it looks IRL! What piece is next up for you now?
Thank you! Yes, I knew it was a lot when I noticed all the black dots on the pattern - but I didn't count 'em until they were all stitched and my grandson asked me how many there were.

I may very well have miscounted a few either way - I suspect there are more than 160!
What next? Well, I have the ToS to finish, plus a very tiny chinese dragon for a friend of mine - from one of those booklets that come with magazines. I shall probably do those alternately, but I'm starting with ToS. I also want to do another 3 versions of it.
After that... well, I'm still collecting thread for my HAEDS, so I can't start any of those yet. I also have a number of non-HAED projects, but most of 'em will take a fairly long time to stitch, being on linen, so I may very well do this 14ct kit from Dimensions which I bought a little while ago:

I rather like it.

I shall probably give it to my elder daughter.

Flojots - lovely finish! Congrats on sticking with all those french knots! I can't do one to save my life - I have resorted to using beads.
There is hope for not having to grid when you start your HAED(s) - I did not grid my 400 x 300 and I did not have too much difficulty (also not planning on gridding my larger one - 2 pages done as of now). I have a non-haed I'm working on 300 x 310 also no gridding - No issues out of the norm.

He is awesome!!

As I've said before, he is literally jumping out of his own picture.
Well Done!

You must be an expert at french knots now.

Thanks, everyone! He is going to the framer on Thursday.
And yes - I feel pretty confident about french knots now!
Also going to the framer is another tapestry of my mother's. One of my family members had it, but instead of hanging it, it was stuck in the attic. Although framed, it was without glass, and in the attic it got a bit motheaten, as well as very dusty, and the frame got broken. The family member returned it to me optimistically thinking I could fix it.

Anyway. I took it out of the frame - with some difficulty. Whoever had framed it for my mom had trimmed it to within one eighth of an inch of the stitching, and fixed it the back panel with drawing pins and glue.

Sheesh! So... washed it, found some of mom's yarn (I kept all her yarns) that pretty well matched (though it was a bit thicker than the yarn in the tapestry) and filled in the motheaten bits. Asked my framer if he was up for a challenge; explained; and, bless him! he said yes!
The tapestry is probably the first my mom did, and she designed it herself, taking Egyptian motifs, and got a friend to draw it onto the canvas for her. I remember her stitching it, so I had to try to rescue it.

How wonderful that piece of tapestry will be when you get it back, regardless of how it looks. and I am sure it will look just fine. I can't wait to see it framed. I think is is great that you have such a good framer.
