Snap, Lyudmila! I've just ordered a metre of "fine white linen" to further my ambitions to stitch a Trish Burr design (or rather several designs, perhaps). I like her style, but do wonder if I'll be able to do any of them justice.

It may take practice, but I'm sure you will! I have been casting glances at her recent transfer book, but I just have too much to do already :-(

She has a freebie heart on her website... and lots of tutorial videos, too. Watched part of one this morning and learned lots! :) I will definitely need a doodle cloth for practice!

I know I really shouldn't have but I've been working lots of overtime so treated myself! Riolis Thistle and Tree Peony are on their way to me  :D

Serinde, thank you for sharing. It turned out that I have seen lots of her designs, just did not know they were hers. How I wish I could do that embroidery! As it is, I hope to watch your WIPs and enjoy the progress.

Nicola, are your kits from Riolis in their "wool" as Russians call it (we call it acril- but Google seems not to know the exact translation into English) or DMC?

Podolyanka it says woolen/acrylic threads for both kits :)

Oh Trish Burr designs are soooo pretty! I’m loving the owl! (Obviously  )
There is so much texture and depth, would love to try some of these one day.

I just found myself saying to DH, "more threads isn't always the answer".
I am very very sorry. Please don't throw me off the Forum...

I think you can be forgiven for your lapse and even more, appreciated for your confessing it. During the year 2020 we all have probably found ourselves making statements that we would never consider in more normal times (is there such a thing?) Did you have to pick DH off the floor when he heard your answer to whatever the question may have been?

Quite right, too. But we forgive you, of course. Who among us hasn’t said a silly thing from time to time? Let him or her without bobbins cast the first skein!

I have redeemed myself by ordering a pair of longer stretcher bars for my Millennium frame :-) (All your fault, Wise Owl, for reminding me that my present ones were only just tall enough for the Tree of Life!)

Hahahahaa so sorry Mabel, but it sounds like you needed them 😅
I still haven’t taken the plunge! Instead I’ve been ordering lots of charts and magazines of designs I like 🤭

You won't regret it! I love mine and the Aristo lap stand.
I think I was lucky ordering mine as I rang up and spoke to someone and it was weeks rather than months.
