You're kidding! They put THEIR web address??? That's a bit much, if you ask me! We organised the SAL HERE, we did the work, we contacted them, they ask me to write something about what we've done and then they only use part of one sentence of it, and then they put their web address. That is just too much!

I've sent the following email to them. I tried to keep it as nice as possible but still let them know we're a bit miffed:
Hi Sarah,
Thanks for putting our SAL in the magazine this month. One thing though - we didn't organise the SAL at cross-stitching.com - we organised it at
www.crossstitchforum.com, so the group is a little disappointed the wrong web address was published.
Kerry and I were very pleased to have our finished cross stitch samplers in the magazine, but were sorry that the others didn't get their photos in too when they worked just as hard and produced such gorgeous finishes.
Ah well, maybe next time.
Thanks again,
Kell.

Very nicely put, Kell -- polite but with just the right amount of justified miffedness. I do think it's a bit much to take all your info, use a smidgeon of it, and use the result to advertise their forum!

I guess no good deed goes unpunished. You did all of the work used a pattern that they had published but that you all made up and tried to give them some credit and they take it as something they have done and use it as self promotion. Disappointing is all I can say.

That is really bad of them! I bought this months mag just to see this article, and was very disappointed. It's not one of the magazines that I usually buy, and I certainly won't bother again! I think your email was very restrained Kell. At least I got to see all the lovely versions on here.

Did you ever get a reply from them, Kell?

I can't properly remember, but I think I remembe rgetting a brief message saying she'd misunderstood about the forum and apologising fo rgetting that wrong, but nothing more than that was said and there was no offer to put it right with a further mention, which is a shame.

That's nice of her respond... but it sounds like a common situation that they've had with others..

I don't get that magazine, but it sounds like a great idea.
I just signed up for cross stitch & needlework subscription.
I have been shopping on ebay and have quite a stash going though so
I can relate lol
