I got a delightful surprise today! I had to pick up a package that they tried to deliver while I was out yesterday. Little did I know it was the stitched bookmark I was expecting from an exchange. The reason it couldn't be delivered without me ot answer the door was that my very generous sender didn't just send the bookmark - she sent an entire box crammed full of goodies!
Here's the gorgeous bookmark (photographed on the lid of the very pretty box everything came in):
And here are all the goodies that came with it:
- Teddy bear chart
- "Love" kit
- Flowers kit
- Rose kit
- Pale blue aida
- Pale pink and white striped aida
- 2-pack of butterfly sticky notes
- A pretty card
- Recipe cards
I had a good one this morning - 200 DMC threads, from ebay, £20 for 100! They are mixed, so not choose your own, but are a good mix, and no duplicates yet. They are nice and clean and not smelly or dodgy!
If anyone else wants some as well, they still have loads left it seems (cough, I bought another lot, have some big projects coming up!) the seller is
Postie has bought me some nice things in the last few days!
First, an ebay bargain. 3 copies of CSC which have the Victorian Christmas design in. I was going to buy the chart for this anyway. Plus I have all the other designs in the mags!
A grab bag of fabric from Polstitches. I'm really pleased with this as all the pieces are good sizes (smallest is about 8 x 14 inches!).
Finally, a Joan Elliott book and the latest issue of Cross Stitch Gold with another of her designs in!

Not stitchy stash, but the postie brought me a boxed DVD set of the BBC Miss Marple series (the 1980s one with Joan Hickson) -- 12 Miss Marples to watch when there's nothing good on the telly
I got the Joan Elliot book today I was a little disappointed it only has two of the Elemental Goddesses in, but it does have the one I was missing - I just thought it would be nice to have a special copy to check colours etc.
I also got a bargain from, of all people, BBC stores! The box set of Being Human 1-3, much cheaper from them than Play or Amazon! Not stitchy but will be watched while stitching

ooo, I loved her. She was the epitome of Miss Marple. Enjoy your DVDs!
I received my order from Shelley at Sewing Cafe today, I only ordered it on Tuesday evening, my DMC thread box and threads. I have put a photo of the third design I ever stitched, back in 1995! in the lid until I stitch something else for it.
Finally got my Joan Elliott book, it's fab! And technically it cost me nothing as I sold the patterns i already had which are in the book (8 of them) and earned more than £9.99 off that.
Also got a Just Cross Stitch magazine from eBay, some lovely designs in it, especially the Christmas designs.
Money's tight at the moment but postie brought a pen for gridding my fabric, some 16 count aida and a couple of variegated threads (can't believe I have stitched for 20 years and never used any before lol). Also some red beads for when I start my Christmas cards.
