Your mermaid is coming on well too, I think like you say the shading on her skin will look ok once she's all done. :applesauce:

No, that's not my work on the Silkweaver site! I must confess I did look at their gallery for inspiration before I bought the fabric and there are at least a couple of Angels of Hope done on that fabric. It clearly suits the design well.

Possibly the reason the gold stands out more on my Angel is because I swapped the gold thread for beads in some places?

Thank you for your comments about the Angel, but she's gone now and I have been working again on Mediterranean Mermaid. I have finished the xs and backstitch, and started last night on the mammoth bead stitching.
Image
I didn't think and dived straight into it stitching the largest beads first  which was really silly as it's going to make scrolling the fabric harder to do.
There's a way to go with this, so bear with me!! Oh, and I'm LOVING my new beading thread (fishing line) so much I've set up a seperate thread under Tips & Hints.

I have also done a little work on James's nameplate:

I need to get this done by the end of the month really, so I have to tear myself away from the Mermaid at some point to crack on with it.

Perfect frame for the picture, and I really love the mermaid, it's so poetic. the nameplate is really cool, too

Beads on the mermaid are looking great - can't believe how fast this one has grown. Your alphabet is really fun for the name plate too. :applesauce:

The mermaid is looking gorgeous  I like that you added the beads, but I guess I can say that because I'm no the one who has to scroll it up lol

The robot alphabet looks great! It's so colorful. Has your son had a peek at it yet?

I recently saw the book for these letters and was very tempted to buy it but resisted in the end. They are so cute and the mermaid is wonderful. :applesauce: :applesauce:
