And he took longer than he should have since I had to frog about half of him. I miscounted near the bottom of one half! He was fun though, I like those Alessandra Adelaide "Friends" series. The outline animals are so neat.Cockneystitcher wrote:Nice updates on the Tiger and Humming-Bird.
Though there's not much of the Penguin there is something appealing and different about him.
Thanks! and agreed!rcperryls wrote:I love the penguin and the tiger is coming along very nicely.![]()
sometimes the smaller ones with a lot of colors seem like more work to me because I feel like I'm changing colors more often.

Great work on the tiger! Filling in makes me a little impatient sometimes.. but i'm sure it will really give the tiger an amazing effect

What a great challenge-and some super speedy finishes! Am a big fan of the penguin and the wine x2 (and actual wine too, ahem!) I may well follow in your footsteps on the selection of a friend's favourite colour! X

Re: Tiffstitch's WIPs/Challenge 2011 (update 7/16/11)
An update on Tiger. I was stuck with a stranded vehicle last night, and I had this with me to work on while I waited for the tow.

And I've started on Kell's Pog Mo Thoin band sampler. It was originally for an elderly friend who isn't that happy about being in a residence, but I may give it to the friend who drove me the 40 minutes home and then 40 minutes back to their house, having to cross the US/Canada border each way. And then make another for my other friend.
I'm using DMC variegated thread and working 2 over 2 on 28 count evenweave (I think). It's that sort of oatmeal colour.

Both are very pretty.
The Tiger is very well done and I love what you are doing with the variegated threads. I bought the first box of them, but have done very little since I tend to stick with charts mostly, but some of the designs ya'll do are just beautiful.
What a good friend to take you back and forth. Nothing worse than a vehicle which won't work when its supposed to!

I know I'm extremely fortunate. It wouldn't have been a big deal, but DH was away and the dogs and cat had been alone over 14 hours by the time I got home. But I did, so that's the important thing.Cockneystitcher wrote:Nice updates.

Well I suppose if you have to be stuck on the side of the road for a bit at least you have some stitching!
Lovely work on both pieces. The tiger is looking pretty fierce!

Re: Tiffstitch's WIPs/Challenge 2011 (update 7/16/11)
It is always a good idea to keep some stitching with me at all times. Or at least some floss to wind on bobbins. That seems to be never ending.
I powered through some more Tiger yesterday

and the progress from Pog mo Thoin

No more time to stitch until tomorrow evening though.

Fantastic work on both projects. I love the colour you are using on the sampler. Is it variegated thread?

Yes, it's DMC 125, a variegated green.Cecilia wrote:Fantastic work on both projects. I love the colour you are using on the sampler. Is it variegated thread?
