Looking wonderful, as usual!
LadyS wrote: Unlike Carole, there are several of the big Mandalas that I'd die to buy and try stitching up, but I know I will NOT do it anytime soon as my WIP list is ever growing and I have several projects lined up and kitted up ready to go. Once my pile diminishes, in a year or two, I'll prolly go back to the Chatelaines and grab a couple. They are AMAZING!
I'm with you! There are several of the larger ones that I just  , but not only do I not have time right now I also don't have the money. I was looking around at ECC's site today and some of the ones I want the kits are over $200 plus the cost of the chart  . Guess I'll just have to start saving now. Maybe by the time I'm ready to stitch one I'll actually have the money to buy one.

Thanks for the comments everyone!
Parksfarm wrote:She's looking great Amanda! You and I have similar tastes in charts, I think. This girl was the first SK I purchased... Of course, I have yet to start her, lol, so you're way ahead of me :)
I always think my taste in HAED charts is strange - in that a lot of the charts I absolutely adore, I would never stitch! I love Portrait of Ophelia by JBG - but when I showed it to DH he said that it was too weird and had a hint of paedophilia about it! From a man's viewpoint I can see what he meant.....then take in to consideration the subject of the chart - a girl who committed suicide by drowning......but I still LOVE this chart!

I have a wishlist of Chatelaines - ones that I really really love - and I have compiled a list of materials that I would need for all of them - scary expensive and hardly a duplicate among them would you believe! Some stitchers convert the silks to HDFs - making them a bit cheaper (for silks anyway) - but that would still require a lot of pennies! My CGM will be DMCs but I expect Butterfly Lace will be Martina's materials...I'm itching to get my hands on the materials list but it isn't released until Tuesday - I am not a very patient person!!!

Is their a materials list for the different charts somewhere without buying the charts? ECC seemed to have how many skeins from each company, but not what colors they are.

I thought you might ask me that......! If you go to the Chatelaine Yuku Board you will see that there are topics for all of Martina's current designs - if you click on whichever you are interested in there will be a materials list in there. There is also an archive for older Mandalas which may or may not have a materials list.......enjoy!

Before I show you my smalls ( @rotfl: not those kind!) - I have to share with you my exciting stitching news - Martina posted the materials list for Butterfly Lace Mandala today and by Chatelaine standards its not too bad! I expect I will gather the materials for it (few Carons, Gloriana and Dinky Dyes silks, PTB and a plethora of delicas!) over the next few months now I have CGM to occupy me for a bit.

Anyway - I got out my Squissors and snipped away - look away now Mabel here are your designs - Kaleidoscope cut and uncut:

I got the cards from Cross Stitch Heaven, I think they turned out ok?! Dove's eyes may have become the new french knots - but I got over them so sure I will win over the dove's eyes! The cutting was not the worst bit - that was trying to hide away the pesky cut ends!

I also stitched up this Teresa Wentzler Whitework freebie (sorry for poor photograph!):

Stitched on 28ct Jobelan with Caron Waterlillies in Mountain Meadow. It was my first time using chain stitch as you can probably tell - I'll get even more practice in with that when I start on Mabel's Round Dozen designs!

Happy stitching everyone!

:applesauce: Beautiful work. The Hardanger pieces are lovely. And thank you for the link to TW's free piece. I just downloaded it. I have to start thinking about the kind of fabrics that I want to try to use on some of these different types of stitching. You have done a great job. I can't wait for you to start on the Chatelaine piece as I am really looking forward to your updates.

Aha--just discovered that I'd already saved this TW design as well as a few other freebies from her site, a while back. Now that I've seen it stitched up, I am definitely going to have to stitch it!! :)

Great finishes! :applesauce: :applesauce:

And yes, those Chatelaines are super expensive, it'd be the type of project I'd have to get the chart for and slowly collect stash for a distant future.

They look great Amanda!

Don't forget everyone, that Cindy at ECC who does the Chatelaine kits will let you make payments on them and then will ship them when you've got them paid off... :D
