Very impressive!

Does the design call for the women's dresses to be in silk or is that a Niki special? I think will make the women stand out, as every lady aspires to do in such a setting!

Time way past for an update!! The design doesn't use silks, that's something I've decided to do, and think it works very well!
I have four projects in a rotation now, so I'm not working on this every week, but do love it, great fun to stitch. I've fallen a little behind on the backstitching, will have to do some more of that soon, I don't mind so much but I often do it later at night and the light and the tiredness are not optimum back stitching conditions!
Oh and I changed the colours for the blonde boy - but Mayor of London, but there you go!!

It is just beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished piece. Love the Satin thread, it gives it a special feel.
I wish I was able to work in rotation because there are several pieces I want to do, but I find it hard to work on more than one thing at a time. Yet, I'm always thinking of the new piece I want to start.
But back to your piece. I love it.

It's from Cross Stitch Collection Vanessa, issues 134-136. But you can buy just that chart from the designer

This just makes me think of Jane Austen's books. I can imagine her characters at a ball like this

It's looking absolutely gorgeous, especially with the different threads.

I just had a look through my magazines, after seeing your beautiful work. I know this is not anywhere near as detailed or as good as yours - but if you, or anyone would like this chart, please let me know!

Wow!! You've done so much! I like the assisi look of the remaining characters.. amusing!
And yes, reminds me of Jane Austen's books. Time to go watch Pride and Prejudice with Colin Firth again!

Only just caught up with this - I can see why you love it! Such a lot going on, and no yards of boring background to stitch!

I love stitching stuff with a lot of interest and detail to keep me interested.
Btw - about the dog hair - I get tons of ruddy cat hair in my stitching. Damn things WILL insist on trying to sit on my lap while I'm stitching.

Tabby cat hair doesn't show much, but black cat hair
does!
