Re: My first WIP updated 26th November

Post by sarahm »

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been quite busy with work and things but when I've had a spare minute I've made the effort to get some stitching done. I'm a little disappointed though as I've ran out of a colour (the gold colour on the car) and I only need a little more! I've been very careful with my threads not to waste any either, so I can't understand how I've run out :?

Looking great! Don't beat yourself up about running out of thread. Some kits, no matter how careful you are, simply don't have enough floss in them. Even the best kit suppliers have accidental shortages from time to time. Check the chart carefully or the mfgr's website, sometimes they list DMC, Anchor, or Madeira equivalents. Hope you get it resolved soon.

Sorry to hear you ran out of threads, it does happen but most companies are happy to send you more if you contact them! The stitching is looking great, so evocative.

My first big kit I ran out of floss as well... Only I didn't know any better so it's still unfinished in one corner  Your stitching is looking great! I hope you get some new threads soon :)

Thank you for your lovely comments, it's the first major project I've done in a long time and I'm pleased how it looks so far.

The threads are Anchor so it shouldn't be difficult getting some more.

I contacted Coats Crafts and they sent me out some more gold thread :D

I've had lots of stitching time - most schools in the area have been closed all week so no work available. Not much to stitch now - then there's all the backstitch...
