I have just fallen for Victorian Charm and will have to see if I can get it here. I want to know what is going on in that 3 floor room for a start. It really does have that special something and I am looking forward to seeing your progress on this one.

Love your Noah's Ark too, your stitching is just so beautiful and even and the whole project is so colourful. Great work.

I am off to google a few places

Very quick update - backstitch is about half done! There is a LOT of backstitch and not sure how clear it shows in the pic but the details it brings out is amazing! I have had a couple of days off and I really don't want to go back to work - (So much more interesting stuff to do at home!) But I really hope to get this one finished - today? Maybe, maybe not! In fact definitely not as I need gold braid to finish the border and I seem to have lost it as it's not in my sewing box with the rest of the kit. :(

Image

And I shall take this opportunity to introduce the newest member of our family as he was helping me with the last photo...NOT!! Here's Frankencat...

Image

His owners were tragically killed in a car accident a couple of months ago and my sister in law asked us if we'd take him on as an indoor cat. He's about a year old and is still getting used to us. We have 2 senior cats (17 & 18 yr olds) and we thought there might be issues but after about 5 weeks everything settled down - oldies just ignore him now!

BTW he is apparently a cross between a Persian and a Bengal - it looks like someone took a persian cat's big head and beautiful big paws and stuck them on smaller cat's body - Hence Frankencat! But he is a sweetie!

Squirrel - I got my Victorian Charm from Amazon.com - shipped from US to the UK it cost less than buying from the UK ( I paid about £16 including delivery) - I would imagine Amazon.com would ship to you too if all else fails?

Love your ark. It is looking so fantastic. Backstitch can be a pain especially when your next project is begging to be started and worked on, but makes such a difference when your finish it.

Love Frankencat. Laverne sends her greetings to a fellow feline photographer too!
How lucky he is to have found you.

Don't you just love that gorgeous expression on Frankencat - he is beautiful and I am sure he will be a great companion too.

Thanks for the info on the Victorian Charm. I did google it and found it at 1-2-3 stitch as well as Cross Stitch World even cheaper and I have had goods from both places no problems.

Whilst there I did a nosey on a couple of other kits which are in the latest Fox Catalogue which came on Monday - and discovered that I can get them for less than half the price in Fox - which is a local Aus/NZ mail order firm. Very very tempted on the Victorian Charm and could well end up getting it. However went shopping yesterday and bought heaps of summer wear, as I still have stuff packed goodness knows where. Lots of fun but need to watch the pennies til next week.

Well - all backstitch is done and all that's left are the french knot eyes and the gold 'cording' on the border and the railing which I can't finish as I have lost my gold thread! A friend from work will hopefully bring some in for me on Monday but if it's not the right type I'll have to order some in so this will now go on hold for a bit...

Image

I will/have started a new thread for Victorian Charm which I started last night!

My friend brought in about a dozen types of gold thread today so I have some I can use now but I had fat club tonight so haven't had time to make a start - will see about making the cord tomorrow.

Frankencat is a sweetie - my only worry is that in the 2 1/2 months we've had him I have yet to hear him purr! All my other cats including the 2 oldies we have left have had purrs like tractor engines! There's something so wonderful about a purring kitty!

Frankie seems happy enough, he doesn't do cuddles yet but he lets us pick him up now and we can even give him belly rubs - all our cats love belly rubs! So he has come a long way since we first got him but no purr - no throat vibration or even the faintest hint of a purr :( I've never known a happy cat not to purr.

What a fantastic project and it looks great!!! Hope that you manage to fly thru the backstitching with ease. Frankencat is stunning!! What a beautiful kitty he is and how very lucky he is to have you adopt him!!! As for the purring, tis very odd but not unheard of! :)
