Love the Lizzie Kate one, it's turned out great!

I had to laugh about the crosses poking out of the backstitch. I'm exactly the same. I have to change it and do fractionals to make it look right.
I even had to do fractionals on a card because I hate seeing it look like that.

Great start on the samurai, lovely rich colours.

[quote="3madspaniels"]I've started my long awaited Samurai! This is the progress for the first week. Every stitch of red is a blend, so took a bit of getting used to! I'm really pleased with the shading so far, but might move over to the fan soon to get away from the red for a while! Had a visit from :anotherfrog: last night, I was one row out with my counting  Luckily I spotted it quite quickly and only had to frog one colour.quote]

This is looking great, the reds are fantastic. I had the same with the fan on my geishas, had enough of that for a while, so started on the lower half, hopefully no more :anotherfrog: visits.

I've finished all the red shades below his belt. The unstitched bits are going to be metallic blends, but I want to finish the bottom of his robe before I do them. The design uses Lazy Daisy stitches in metallic to look like embroidered dragonflies, you might just be able to see the shape from the blank stitches.

The green bit is the start of the handle of one of his swords, and the black is the start of the shading on his sleeves!

Really enjoying this one now!

Thank you for all your lovely comments!

I managed to get quite a bit done this week. I'm loving stitching this one and have decided to get the companion piece "Jewels of the Orient".

Had another :anotherfrog: visit this week. The hilt of the sword called for "gold" so I merrily picked up the gold metallic! Wow, blingy! Then I looked at the photo and realised it was wrong, should have been stranded cotton in "gold" colour! The instructions for this one are so complicated! 25 different colour and strand combinations just for backstitch and the other detail stitches!

Anyway, here he is!

This is another one of the Dimensions Japanese designs I have to have. (Actually, I kind of want all of their Japanese designs.) It's fun watching it grow until I get the chance to work on it myself. :D
