Jenni's stitching ~ Update ~ 30.08. ~ First Finish of 2011!

Post by MissJenni »

I have FINALLY finished my Cut thru Castle!

Image
I am so pleased that it is finished but ashamed that it has taken me so long. Stupid commuting is taking away my precious stitching time.

The job front is still bleak but it looks like I might make it to November now which is just as well as my poor pug has been bitten in the eye and is currently visiting the vet every week (poor thing ) My boyfriends Car has just taken a turn for the worse and I have been set the task of trying to solve that because he can't (won't) get a job to pay for anything in his life :x

The driving is going from strength to strength although I have upped it to two lessons a week which is not helping the financial situation AT ALL. I can now parrallel park and turn in the road - go me!

In between all this I have had some time off work and managed to start my next project which is a birth sampler for my twin's baby (due in January) I found in the Donna Kooler book - 555 Cross Stitch Motifs

Its going ok so far:

I am enjoying the more traditional backstitch and just using one thread makes it look so delicate I can just see it hanging in my little niece or nephew's nursery!

Just one more picture of my Pug before his eye injury

Lets hope he gets back to full health soon

Not seen this thread before - you must've started it when I wasn't posting! It's a great castle - very amusing - and doesn't the backstitch bring it to life?!

Nice little dog, too - hope it's better very soon.

That castle is awesome and good on you for persevering to the finish and doing all that back stitching.

Love the sampler too - its going to look really great on the wall of the babies room.

Hope the job front improves and you get even more confident with the driving.

I love the castle, are there many fractional stitches in the cut thru designes?

There aren't any fractional stitches in this one and I assume that all the ones in the series are the same, I think in the instructions she had put something about favouring the full stitches but modern back stitching. It was a major plus for me, I think I would have been working on it well into next year if there had of been, they slow me down so much!

I have had my fill for now but I am really considering this one
