I AM FINISHED!!!! Yippie! This has been a WIP for a couple of years now and I'm really happy to say that it's done. I have to wash and iron it then of course comes the framing.

Image

I am picking up the Enchanted Alphabet and get that one done too before I move to anything else.

I have also found a HAED that I really like that will come after I finish the Alphabet for my daughter. I've been looking at the HAED's for a really long time... I couldn't find anything that I liked until I came across this little one.... The Christmas Star http://heavenandearthdesigns.com/index. ... ts_id=7002" target="_blank" target="_blank
It reminds me of the Willow Tree Angels that I have collected over the years. I'm really excited to start it and I think that if I promise myself that I won't start it until the one that I am working on is done, I'll actually finish this WIP like I did with Dreamin.

Thanks for looking all, you are all a great bunch of motivators!

Brava Miss Amanda.. see I knew you could do it in time. Now I have to get my butt in gear and finish the ribbons on my Cardinal Ball. I'll snap progress pics later on tonight. I look forward to searching for this one at the fair.

I like the HAED you have chosen. It took me a while to find one I wanted to do.. and then I found 3. I should have stopped looking after I found the first but thats sort of what happens on those sites.. click, click, click.. paid.

Let me know how stitching on the plane went for you.

Thank you everyone! You guys are just wonderful!

On a sad note, the on thinkable has happened. I thought my fabric was somewhat color fast, it turns out it wasn't. I am really upset. As soon as it hit the water the die started washing out. I pulled it from the sink and hoped that I would get lucky. Lady luck was not in my side. The bright white windows and little flowers are now a tan color. All my other stitches have a brown tint to them as well. My husband was right there when it happened, said that now it looks antique like. He is right, it does look a little warn and antique like.... I guess that's fine for my home but....... For the fair? If it were just the white parts, I could always resitch that but it's everything!

I didn't even think about it, even after my discussion with Maggie about hand died threads. I have learned a lession.... The hard way. Sob.

 I know how disappointing that can be to have some of the color wash out. It is a kind of old fashioned picture so the antique look might just give it a different character. These are the times when I wish I could just "nod my head like Jeannie" or wiggle my nose like Samantha (Bewitched) and make everything go back the way it was. You did a lovely job and should be proud of that. And what a sweet husband to find the positive in the situation.

Can we see a picture of what it looks like now? No one is hesitant with their opinion whether it would still be good for the fair. I bet it still looks great!
