Update:

Started the second ear, and also done a bit of the background. You have to use 6 strands of thread and half cross stitch for the background. You can only use VERY short lengths, because pulling that many strands through the aida shreds 'em in no time. And even so, the 6 strands don't cover all that well!

looks really good. I don't know if I have sewed with 6 strands. 4 strands seemed like a lot on one project, can't imagine 6. but it looks good.
