Wow! Thanks! This is the best place in the world for encouragement. Yes, they're my first and I don't have a hoop so you should have seen me using my knee in the whole process. @rotfl:

I used two strands. This is all the same brand of silk, but the burgundy, in particular, is thicker, less shiny, and less slippery than some of the other colors.

Thanks! I think you're going to love it! The instructions are excellent and it's just plain fun to learn new stitches.
