Oh, this is just gorgeous!   Beautiful stitching!! :applesauce: :applesauce:

Like Nachosmiley said, I also have used the invisible thread to attach beads......it's a pain because the thread is not easy to work with but the effect is very nice.

Thank you everyone! I am loving the colors and the silk fibers on this piece... I used my big camera on this pic and while the color of the fabric came out more true to life, the colors of the stitching are actually truer with my iPhone which I used for the others... Some day I'll figure out how to get better pictures.

I finished the second section last night. Still need to change some of the beads in the first section but I'll do that later. I got a tiny bit bored with doing the exact same thing four times though, but that's kind of the name of the game on these mandalas, so hopefully I can get used to it... :)

Here is my progress pic as of 11/12/11:

nachosmiley wrote:can I just ask did the folks on the Chatelaine board give you advice as to how to attach the beads straight? I've only beaded once and mine were slanted too so I would be interested in knowing how it's done.
Nacho, sorry I forgot to answer your question... To put them on straight, you do a full cross going through the center of the bead on each leg, rather then doing a half cross, wich will make them slanted.

Thank you! I told myself that I would go back to my sadly neglected HAEDs after I finished this section but I'm having so much fun with this, that I'll keep on with it for awhile more. I'm the kind of stitcher that keeps on with a piece until I "know" that I'm ready to switch. I don't have any set rotation. Lately my Simple Joy Fae has been crying out for some attention, so I think she will be next up. I'm not going to make the HAED goals I set on the BB, so now it's just stitch on whatever I feel like. This is the first (and probably last) time I actually set any kind of stitching goals other than making something for a gift. Don't care for them at all, lol. HAED has an incentive though, if you make your goals, you get entered into a drawing for a free chart... Oh well

 This is looking so gorgeous Dana!! The colours are just beautiful as is your stitching! The repetitive nature of them did have me wondering whether I would go a little stir crazy, but I think switching them about with the confetti nature of HAEDs will provide a really good contrast in stitching projects. I'm with you on the whole rotation thing -I have found it much better to stitch on a piece for as long as the mojo on it lasts. I like to have a rough idea of when I would like to finish a piece (or more likely add a new one in!) but nothing is set in stone.

I look forward to seeing more updates on this piece - it is stunning!!!

I worry about that sometimes when designing, as most of mine are "doubly symmetrical" as well, so four times the same stitches; generally I still enjoy it though so I hope other people will too :-)
