We'll be at my aunt's house in Columbia. Hmmm ... I may have to check the weather and change what I've packed for the girls. I've gotten used to the 40 and 50 degree highs here. Didn't think about how much further south y'all are.

Double check the temps. I have had Thanksgivings in the 60's, 70's and 80's in Charleston and Columbia is usually close to our temps, but not always since we are so close to the ocean. I have Christmas sweatshirts, sweaters and t-shirts. One never knows.
Have a safe trip and a great Holiday.

After two weeks of holidays and sick kiddos, the mushrooms are finally finished!
First the details: Stitched on 32ct Autumn Fields (not sure who by, found it in a box of cut cloth at my LNS) using the charted colors and beads except for the bicones. For those I used Swarovski 4mm Emerald bicones.
Now, for your viewing pleasure:
It looks much more sparkley in real life. Off to work on Springtime Roses.

I've finally had a chance to take a pic of my Springtime Roses. It' coming along nicely. The center panel is finished except for the beads (which I haven't purchased yet). So far I can say that the metallics are a royal pain in the backside, but the silks more than make up for it. I think I'm in love with silks now.

So, here it is:

Loving the toadstools! Looks great - you are doing so well with you projects when the little ones are napping.

Beautiful work! This piece was my first one using silks as well - and I have well and truly fallen for them! It was my first time using Petite Treasure Braid too (which I am now also obsessed with!) - except that I used 2 strands for the crosses and I now know that you are only supposed to use 1, but it's not like it looks the worse for it - it was just a pain to stitch!
Really looking forward to your next update and seeing a bit of bling appear when you get your beads!

that is beautiful. I downloaded it but haven't gotten the threads yet. I just love what you have done. Fantastic. Are you planning to do one of the larger ones now? You would do a lovely job I know.

Oh thank you so much for posting this part of this one mechie. I was sitting looking at it trying to decipher the symbols for all the half stitches a couple of days ago and had to give up. It has been enlarged but is still not good. I was hoping to be able to get it done quickly but now looking at your gorgeous one I think I will find something else for my friends 70th. I have ordered the threads and hopefully they won't be held up too long in customs.
Your work is gorgeous and so even. Many thanks for posting this - what fabric are you using please?

Thanks, Sally, you make me

. I'm using 28 ct white and I think it's Joblean. It was leftover from a project I did years ago. I had a hard time with deciphering the half stitches on the chart too. If it helps, there's only two colors of half stitches, the Mountain Meadow and the Honeyed Turquoise. The Honeyed Turquoise is mostly on the bottom with some lines going up (like grass). The rest is the mountain meadow. Oh, and the stitches on the left half go top left to bottom right while the stitches on the right go the opposite.

Aww, thanks for the vote of confidence, Carole. I want to do a big one (think I've even picked out which one I want to do), but it'll have to wait a while. I want to finish up some of what I've got planed first (just got something new that I want to work on). Plus I've got to save up enough money to pay for the supplies.

You're only supposed to use one strand? Huh, learn something new everyday.

One strand would have been much easier to deal with. Oh well, since I've started this one with 2 strands I'll finish it that way. Next time though....
