Well, I wanted to have this as a gift to Joe's mom on Christmas eve. Instead I gave it to her the day after New Years.
She still loved it. She put it on her mantle and even moved some cards out of the way. She showed it off to everyone who came by, which made me SO proud!

she is a very crafty lady, but she said she never worked over two on evenweave (hope my attempt at terminology is correct!), so she was really impressed!
I didn't get a pic of him in the frame, so you'll have to wait until next year for that. But here he is, my very first completed project and my very first non-aida project! Ladies and gents: Sunflower Santaaaaaa!
Also, just for your reference, here is the pic from the pattern:

Thank you so much! I was terrified about changing the colors, but Santa's little skirt/coat just bugged me, lol!
If I could do it again, I would have moved the three sunflowers on the coat up further, but I think they look ok resting right on the edge of his fur trim.

Oh he's lovely. I like the little curls in his beard. I can finally see the photos- must have changed internet settings at work.. or its just my lucky day. I like the adjustments you've made on the bottom. The coat flows better. I like the olde worlde look to him as opposed to the Coke a Cola santa we see more often.

Great job, like the others have said, I also like your version better than the original! The coat design flows much better in all red than breaking it up with the green and white!

That turned out perfectly. I like your design much better as it just looks right and the other one seems a bit choppy to me. What a lovely gift. I am not surprised that your boyfriend's mother appreciated it so much. Great job.

He has finished really beautiful and I am not surprised it was up on the mantle being shown off to everyone.
Great work.

Superb!! And, yes, I agree that your version is MUCH better. The original one looked more like a skirt than a coat. Well Done!
