Thanks everyone I truly love this piece but boy what a pain in the backside with all the confetti. I was wondering what most of you do when it comes to coverage. Do you go for two over one full crosses, one over one full, two over one tent? I will be starting Fall Fairy for my daughter in law on July 1st so I was just looking for a bit of feedback. I don't want to mess this one up.

HAEDs have been stitched all kinds of ways. I have 2 over 1 on 25 ct evenweave and 2 over 1 on 18 ct afghan cloth; 1 over 1 on 25 and on 22 ct. I also did a 2 over 1 on 25 ct. I think right now I am most pleased with the 1 over 1 on 25 though on 22 I think it also looks good. 2 over 1 on 25 is my least favorite for ease of stitching, though the coverage is great. The back is bulky. I think trying different combos on different fabrics is the way to decide which you like best. Everyone stitches differently in terms of tension which I have decided makes a huge difference for me when doing 1 over 1.
Hope I haven't confused you any. What you have done so far on the Lady is really pretty.

Gorgeous!

My preferred HAED stitching is 2 over 1 tent stitches on 28 count evenweave. You might want to experiment with different counts and threads to find out what you like the best... :)

Thanks for the feedback. With lady I tried so many different ways and found that two over one tent looked the best. of course two over one full gave the best coverage but it was so bulky that it was impossible to stitch with all the confetti. I think I'm going to try one over one full on Fall Fairy and see how I like it. I hate that I'm doing everything in tent stitch because I feel like I'm cheating a bit but it just looks so good and it's so much faster etc. etc. Oh one last question. If I am doing say three different projects do I put each in a different thread or just post progress pics all on one thread? Yes you can tell I'm still quite new here

Great progress on a beautiful design :applesauce: :applesauce:  .
I totally hear what you're saying about coverage, stitch count, 2 threads or 1, tenting etc. When I started my first HAED, I followed the instructions and did 2 over 1 on 25 count. I managed 2 pages but the back was so bulky with all the confetti that I've started again on the same piece of fabric, but tenting 2 over 1. It looks ok to me so far and it's much quicker and less bulky. I'm doing another HAED 2 over 1 full crosses because there's much less confetti and also HUGE areas of black, so I needed the coverage. My third HAED is 2 over 1 on 22 count and I think I prefer this the best, although I may still continue with the tenting, as I want to get at least one of these babies done in this lifetime!!!
Regarding how many Forum threads you have going, I tend to have a thread for all the non HAED stuff and then each HAED has its own thread, as it's going to be ongoing for a while, but it's entirely up to you. I think that once a thread has 50 pages, a new thread has to be started, as the system can't handle a thread with >50 pages. :?
Good luck and Carry on Stitching!!!

Your stitching on this looks amazing =)
:applesauce: :applesauce: :applesauce:

I'm always stitching my Haeds on 25ct 1 over 1 full crosses , I tried 2 over 1 full crosses and 2 over 1 tent, but I ended up with 1 over 1 full crosses =)
You just have to try different things to find out what out like best =)

Thanks everyone for the positive replies and the helpful hints. I am going to try going 1 over 1 on Fall Fairy and see how I like it. I am just waiting on my threads to get here and then I can start. For now, it's Lady for the following week.

Okay so not a whole lot of progress because I got distracted by my new shiny chart and threads. The precious called to me, oh yes it did and I couldn't help myself. I had to answer it and start the new project lol. Anyway here's a tiny update. Image
