So here's where I'm at currently. I realized earlier today that the dark blue section on the right above the little star is possibly the wrong shade of blue.

It calls for dmc 820, and its possible I used dmc 796. Only reason that I'm not sure which color I used it because I have both of them out since I need both colors, and I was just tossing the bundle onto my couch until I needed it again. Now my dilemma is; do I frog that entire section and stitch it the right color, or do I leave it and use 796 that's called for right under the section... Both colors are soooo close in color and I don't think it's all that noticeable but that could just be me.

After I posted, I thought to myself "I wonder how many of us are going to either A)pull out those two colors or B) already have those colors out to compare them. I pulled out my bad that has all my extra thread skeins in and compared the two colors.

This is a lovely piece indeed. I would have suggested like Sally did to just leave it and then remembered that on the piece I did for my sister's birthday last year I did the exact same thing as you have done. But I could tell right away which color I had used and which it was supposed to be. Similar, but identifiably different and it did make a difference in the background. If you can't tell the difference, though, and can't figure out which color you used, then I don't see what difference it will make if you leave it and just keep stitching. Since there are different shades in the sky I would think that, unless it keeps gnawing at you, you could keep it. If it is an itch you can't get rid of, then

it.

Its not bothering me. But my biggest fear is that I'll finish the page, start the second page and it not match up. I don't want to frog anything since its on 25 count and I'm terrified that I may cut the fabric. I think I'm just going to wing it if it doesn't match up right on the second page. And than if I'm still not completly happy with it I'll order new fabric and restart

Speaking from experience, if you find that when you start page 2, you don't like it, that is the time to make the decision to restart. I waited 6 1/2 pages and that is a real pain in the patooki to admit defeat and restart then. could you start charting page 2 now to see if it will match up? That way you won't have to restitch all of page 1 if you do have to restart.

I work with both in my current project so they were already kind of out anyway

796 and 820 are so close in color I don't think it would effect the design much

I'm glad it's not bothering you!!

Since they are so close and it is the night sky I would not worry to much. When you get to the second page stitch a few stitches of the color in that area then step back and see what you think. I would say no harm done If you are not bothered.

Lovely update, i think the colour looks okay and if it doesnt bother you its such a small area of the whole design that it wouldnt matter!
You are definately making me want to start this design! I have kitted up half of it but no aida

Lovely progress

I'd do just what Rose has suggested on the colour mix up.

Its update time. I just want to say thanks to everyone. I did take some advice and stitched a bit of page two. Not much but enough to realize that it doesn't matter of I switched the two colors, everything looks fine and that's what matters. I finished page one and I'm thinking of ways to do page two.

I'm so glad that the color switch didn't cause you problems. Great update and I am looking forward to seeing more of this one!
