About time we saw Jet and his stitching - he really is a pro. they do love to get
in and 'help'.

Great stitching and it is so pretty that Deep Blue Sea. Hope Mr :anotherfrog: :anotherfrog: runs away.

I currently have HM sitting tall on my lap and its hard to type around/ove him.

Wow! What a great start on your Deep Blue Sea, I'm sure you will be catching me up pretty soon I thought the first part was quite big! :applesauce:

I must say we do have similar tastes.....I have mini Queen of shadows in my wish list too, but I'm waiting to see if Queen of owls comes out in a mini as a companion piece...if it does I will HAVE to buy both of them  ! ( I know I can request a mini but I am a cheapskate and will wait and see if someone else will pay for it first! )

Can't wait to see more progress on your lovely WIPs!

That looks lovely, especially on that pretty fabric :)

I see we have another feline directing stitching operations. He's a very handsome chap too

Thank you for the wonderful comments! It really helps encourage my stitching bug!

And I let Jet know all of the nice things you said about him. Of course, being a cat, it all went to his head. He's my little lovebug!! :kitty:

Which Chat will you be starting?

I am surprised by how big Part 1 is! Seeing your WIP gives me encouragement to get through it.

I hadn't seen Queen of Owls - she's beautiful! I will have to get her as a mini. I may put her in my next batch of minis to request. That is so cool that we have similar tastes!

This week I worked on the HAED design "Mini Curl Up With A Good Book":

Image

I made a HAED forum half-year goal of finishing pages 1 and 2 of this design by the end of the year. I realized this week that I may not make that goal, so did some research on the HAED forum and HAED Facebook pages on how to stitch faster. I read that tent stitching is faster, but would like to continue to make X's.

I've been stitching one row at a time, about 20 or so blocks long, so I rethread my needle often. I decided to try a 10x20 or so block. I was afraid that I would have to do a lot of frogging, even with keeping track of my stitches on the chart with a highlighter, but I surprised myself by getting almost all of the colors in the right place!

I think by making more stitches per color and rethreading my needle less often that it's faster. I do think it's more fun. I may still just need to allocate more hours to my HAED designs.

I did the 1/2 year goal thing also. I figured out how many days I had and then figured out how many stitches I needed to do for my goal. Then I divided the stitches by the number of days so I could see how many I needed to complete each day to meet the goal. When I broke it down like that, it seemed much easier to be able to meet the goal instead of focusing on the entire goal at once. If I miss the count on one day then I make up for it by doing a few more the next day. I am confident you will be able to meet the goal :D we are all here to cheer you on!

Curl up is looking great....gotta love those Spangler draglings! :applesauce:
How much have you gotten done of page 1 so far....about 1/2 a page maybe? If so I think you will make your goal as you are a quarter of the way there already!

:applesauce: great progress so far. I agree with nacho that you look like you are almost done with 1/2 of page 1. I did yearly goals and made them kind of easy because its been so long since I did goals, though I'm still not sure I'll meet them. I love how your Curl Up is looking. I love the Spangler
draglings about as much as I love his cats. I am so glad that you are stitching this one as it will be fun to follow the progress.

Ooh, lovely progress. Great to see how the mini stitches up compared to the full size one I'm doing. Slight confession on my speed  I cut my thread to loop start and stitch 2 over 1. Decided that I really didn't like 2 over 1 on 25ct so restarted 1 over 1 but didn't cut all my thread in half. So I have super long lengths, which is actually working quite well for the large colour blocks.
