What Serinde did on her summer vacation

Here is the first piece, framed, with silver paper behind and a steel blue mat. And no, it isn't squint: it's the ash frame (DH measured!). The framer is willing to stain or paint the frame, if child's parents want.

Beautiful. The mat is perfect for it. I love the frame but I love natural wood frames so I'm not a great judge for that. What an absolutely lovely gift. They will be so appreciative, I'm sure.

Thanks, everyone! And may I boast? This piece got a 1st place in our local "show" over the weekend, as did the big spot sampler which I'd done for the Edinburgh exhibition. The workshop sampler got a 2nd and a 3rd for a gift tag. I'm well chuffed!!
