I still have to do Christmas with my dad and step-mom and her sisters next weekend, so I might still get some more stitchy stuff. But so far I've gotten a couple gift cards for Micheal's and with one of the cards I got one of the big gift wrap storage totes. which will be perfect for storing my big projects in as I plan to get some more 9 x 24 frames for my frame stand so I can swap out frames with the projects already on them instead of switching WIPs on my single 9 x 24 frame. I also got an 11 x 11 loops & threads plastic frame (their version of a q-snap) and a pack of thimble-it.

Brandi, I love Thimble-it. I have several packs and they have saved my fingers more times than I can imagine. When I was stitching the 2 over 1 on 25 ct fabric and couldn't get the needle through all that bulk I know I would have done some damage to my fingers if I didn't have the "thimbles" it provides. Sounds like you have been able to put the gift card to good use. I have one for Michael's and have to do a bit of a home inventory of stash before I am off to replenish any threads or needles

My parents sent me 4 big pieces of 25 count lugana fabric in different colours, a DMC cone of 310, many bobbins, thread cases, a paring knife (they got me a new kitchen knife block and the first big knife for the set for my birthday) and mittens!

I've never even seen 25-count before in person, but it looks really nice. And lugana is so soft compared to aida. I may break my one-WIP rule and start another project just to fondle it.

My inlaws got me a Keurig, and now I have caffeine shakes because I just found raspberry chocolate truffle cups at the grocery store.

My boyfriend bought me more bobbins (really, never too many bobbins), a ziplock freezer bag of DMC threads, a Michael's gift card, DMC number stickers and Keurig cups in spicy eggnog, Jamaican blue mountain and chocolate glazed donut flavour...

All in all, an amazing Christmas!

Yeah, I've torn up my middle finger pushing through on the peacock feather project and a regular thimble just wasn't cutting it. I don't like how it sat at all, and I found it awkward to use. but I've used bandaids in a similar fashion to the thimble-its so I think they will be perfect for me.

I got a lot of nice stuff, but the only stitchy related gift was an amazing Brother Sewing Machine I got from my mom. I didn't own a sewing machine so I was incredibly happy with it!

Maybe I am just not using them properly but they always fall off. I like them alot but I have to use a band-aid along with the thimbles.

Looks like Santa was very generous to everyone!
My two boys each got me a pair of jammies and a Mill Hill kit ( a Halloween design and a Hummingbird design) :) and my hubby got me a Keurig coffee maker :) I also got various other little goodies from some other family members so it was a nice Christmas!
Right before Christmas I picked up the fabric I ordered for my first HAED but have had NO time to even think about starting it. The day after Christmas my 10 yo was in a 3-day hockey tournament (got eliminated before the finals). When we weren't at the rink, my boys got lots of fun games for Christmas (non-electronic for a change) that they wanted us to pay with them. So.....maybe when vacation is over on Jan 7th, I can get back to my stitching :)!

Looks like you all got some great gifts!

I didn't get anything stitchy related this year, but I think everybody thought I have somany projects on the go already I don't need more!

I got a pair of pyjamas, Series 4 of "Wild at Heart" on DVD, Series 3 of "X Files" on DVD, one of my favourite movies "Remember Me", a set of three bottles of Baileys (mid-sized ones) and a set of 5 flavoured vodkas (which I'm ashamed to say have all gone already) - *insert drunken rolling eyed smiley here*

What else? A Robert Pattinson calendar (what can I say, I lust after someone almost young enough to be my child  ), chocolates (essential), "Prometheus" DVD, boring things like socks and tights and a basket of fruit (someone obviously hinting that the chocolates aren't going to do me much good!)

I think that was probably all of it, but I got a bonus from my boss and bought myself a treadmill with it so I can still train when it's wet, foggy, icy and whatever!

Like I said in St Cross Stitchers Ward (thread) we didn't really "do" presents this year....BUT I did take my B-day $ and added 2 charts to my stash (a HAED...planned because it was on sale) and a Chataleine Mandala because Koko keeps posting GORGEOUS pictures of her progress  (now I have to fight the temptation to bust the bank & add the bead pack to my stash....not a real hard fight, banks already bust  )

Here's the HAED:

It's the 2nd one of this artists that I've stashed (I got The Breakers months ago) I really like this guys paintings!

Hi everyone!

Back after my Christmas perambulations around the country :D I was thoroughly spoilt over Christmas with some lovely clothes and christmas food and a couple of stitchy presents too - a new Chatelaine design    - it's the Venice mandala which is perfect for me as I adore Venice - we honeymooned there  Also got some perle 3 skeins for Mabel's SAL, so getting ready for that.

Not formal Christmas pressies but I was given from my father in law a set of very old cross stitch magazines that had been passed to him on the death of a parishioner as they knew he stitches too. He didn't want anything in them so passed them to me. I also got orders! My mother in law was so taken with with set of coasters I stitched for their Christmas hamper that she's asked if I could do some more this year for her that she can use as presents for people in the parish. She's offered to pay me but obviously as she's my MIL and I'm not using designs of my own, I've told her that they are simply gifts and not to worry about it. If it takes off though, I may have to start designing....
