I can only presume you are a victim of the cunning revenge of Mr :ribbit: , since we have all been jumping up and down on his amphibious person. How FRUSTRATING!

Mr. :ribbit: has visited me more than once on this piece. But this delay I can't blame on him (don't you hate it when that happens?), it was my short-sightedness. I had an inclining that there wouldn't be enough gold on that little piece of cardboard but I didn't want to purchase two because I wasn't sure I would like working with it. My mistake. I didn't figure that they wouldn't keep this thread in stock.
Patience is a virtue, yes? Perhaps I need to work on that virtue a bit more, hmmm? :thinks:

I'm nearing the home stretch! The store didn't get my threads until Tuesday of this week! I thought I would go mad!
So, all the gold lettering is done. I've just to complete the date and names. I've started using the recommended color but was displeased with the look. I tried changing the color and am still not happy. The chart calls for simple block letters with 2 strands and yet it looks out of place with the picture as a whole. Mind you, there is not alot of room to get creative with alternative lettering styles. My query is this, should I try the lettering using 1 strand only? And now that I have taken the thread out twice there is "fuzzies" of thread in the material. I've tried picking it out but you can still see where it was. Will re-stitching cover them? What can I use to try to erase these? *pulling her hair out!*

Gentle use of sticky tape on both sides will get rid of the fuzzies.
It may be worth going online to find any lettering that you like, then practice on some spare fabric, or even at the very edge of the fabric you are working on, it is worth taking your time over until you are happy :D

Just had a look, one search came up with this

Jilly, I like that alphabet. I'm going to experiment. Thanks for the help. I'll try the sticky tape too.

What did I ever do before you guys came along?! Jilly, I found an alphabet that worked and I am so much happier. :D I can't tell you all how much you've helped me. Thanks so much to everyone. I've learned more in this last few months than in all the years prior stitching without your wonderful advice.
I'm finishing the beading and it will be done.
Hopefully, I'll have a picture this weekend for you.

Oh, I used that one to make the letters on my little bags, to match the Celtic knot. I had to redraw them because they were too big, and you cannot change the size onthe site, but it wasn't difficult, and I loved the effect!

Well, after a 12 hour stretch (its lunacy, I know) I am finished! I think we need a party. Or maybe just me. I had a crazy time with the beads. We now have petite beads in the carpet and everywhere. Those little suckers can sure fly!
Isn't it strange how you want so badly to be done and then feel a little lost when it is? Or is that just me too? It's been a LONG day. I wish the beads showed up better in the picture, they look nice (my husband says). The gold border at the top is straight, it's just pulled funny in the Q-snap. My son was in a hurry to leave and I made him take a picture before he left. He didn't want to wait for me to reposition it. So, you'll have to take my word for it. It's straight, or my eyes are crooked, which is a definate possibility.

Thanks for all the help you've all been.

It is amazing Carolyn, I am so glad you found the right lettering, it looks wonderful.
It is a shame about the beads not showing up well, we all seem to experience that problem with photos of our work, very frustrating.
Well done :D :applesauce:
