Re: Frangrant Tranquility, Riolis - as at COS on 10th June
7 nights work on this again. More green to be done on flower jug but decided to stitch some other colour after finishing the greenery on the trellis.
The green stones on the wall, right hand side, are half cross stitch & are bottom right to top left as told to do it on chart. Looked on main picture & it is correct, slabs under the table & chairs will be like that too. On Overlook Café half crosses were stitched bottom left to top right as depicted on their chart & how I have always done them.

The half cross stitches add a different texture ....I like that

I agree. They almost give a 3D perspective. I have seen the directions going either way for half stitches. I would guess it depends mostly on the designer's preference.wendywombat wrote:nice to see this one again.

I still love this design, Riolis does make some beautiful patterns with the different stitches they use.

Thank you all for your lovely comments. This is not as complicated or detailed as many projects on here but it is very tranquil to stitch. And lovely soft Aida fabric, the nicest I have worked with.

This is so pretty, and I agree that the half-cross stitch lends depth and interest
