This one is coming together so quickly and oh so gorgeous Carole. I love it and the other 2 which have now arrived at your home are going to enhance this one no end. A beautiful trio for sure.

Hopefully this will be the last update before I'm finished. I really appreciate all your comments and encouragement. Thank you.
My sister was supposed to be here this week for a few days before flying to Atlanta to be with her pregnant daughter, but the flu hit some of the family here and I have either a kind of bad cold or a light case of the flu (because I had the flu shot ) and it seemed like not a good idea to expose my sister who could carry it to my niece. So I will have lots more time to finish this one and get started on the next.
Thanks for looking!
Carole

They look so 3D as if they're popping off the fabric!

Amazing what just a few shades can achieve. Well done!
Hope you feel better soon!

thank you Wendy. For someone who is used to the 100 or so colors in an HAED (or the blended threads of a Teresa Wentzler design) the depth and detail of this with only 9 shades has been a real surprise.

Great update! I think this is one of the coolest birth designs I’ve seen. It will be treasured forever, and will never go out of style.

That is coming oh so close to the finish now and is absolutely AWESOME. I love the way the hands are 'popping' out of the fabric. A fabulous piece of stitching dear friend.

Thank you all so much for your encouragement. One down and two to go. With all my concern about the thread I have so much left, should anyone want to stitch this. Don't know if it is enough to stitch another on 28 ct 1 over 1, but given my opinion on these threads, doesn't hurt to have extra thread if you try it. The kit comes with 14ct aida, so I should probably have only used half.

Thank you so much for looking!
Next up is Vervaco's Mother & Baby. Will probably start a new thread if I can't change the topic name for this one.

Absolutely beautiful!
(Incidentally, stitching on 28ct over 1 actually makes it a quarter of the size of stitching on 14ct, and I assume you would also have been asked to use more strands if you had done it on the prescribed 14ct, so you should have oodles of thread for another 28ct version!)

I totally agree with your comment about "a start is a start" - even if it is only 6 stitches it is still a start. Looking forward to seeing this one grow now.

This has been a much easier design to stitch than "Hands" was, mostly I think because I gridded the fabric this time. Also, the thread seems stronger to me, less fraying though there is still more than usual. I'm beginning to think that I might actually get them all done by the shower (May 2).
Thanks for looking. I really do appreciate your comments and encouragement.

Wow, you have made great progress already. I am glad that the new threads are behaving themselves too.

Weekly update. First thank you for your comments. I have become so used to HAEDs and multiple colors and tons of confetti that this one seems to almost stitch itself (until I choose the wrong color and have to pick it out. With only 9 to choose from, choosing the wrong one seems incredibly dumb to me, but I have done that more than once

). I think you can finally see the outline of the mother. Her nose isn't quite as big as it seems since she is touching the baby with it, I think.
Thanks for looking!

Marvellous. All those gray shades would have me cross-eyed.
