The fairies are looking good. I think as Mabel has said that once you are finished the fabric and the wings will work well together. The backstitching will highlight the wings and differentiate from the background fabric.
If you are looking for some one to help change you, look in the mirror
Thanks for the lovely comments everyone
I had a great Mothers Day yesterday and managed to do a whole chunk of stitching peacefully while watching Twilight! My eldest brought me breakfast in bed and daddy did the dinner so I had lots of extra time. So I backsitched the purple fairy and stitched the big fairy in the middle and all the grass in between
I do like the effect that the pearl added to the wings gives..... after re-reading the update it did sound like I didn't like it much it gives just the effect I was after not too much, but not to little, and it does match the fabric very well.
After some very slow stitching, this is where I am now
Its very frustrating as it's such a simple design. Whole stitches and hardly any confetti but I still seem to spend more time frogging than I do actual stitching. I went away for easter and had hoped to do a load of stitching but of course it never happened! Spent my time on a very windy Skegness beach! and nearly died climbing the very many steep stone stairs of a church tower to wonderful views at a church in Boston. (otherwise known as Boston Stump, huge church and well worth the climb to the tower! I would recommend a visit if your in the area, though not if your afraid of heights ) Anyways back to stitching, I really hope to be done with this soon as I have several projects I'm dying to start!!
Oh no... the simple mistakes are the worst.. Or at least for me..I guess I can't forgive myself as easily...but it's looking great! Hopefully that frog will leave you alone for a bit... as is, though, it's looking wonderful
