Thank you ladies for all your encouragement I actually feel like this isn't progressing as well as I'd like it to and I'm very much aware of the deadline I've set myself for it to be all finished and in the post by the end of July (to get to him in time for his birthday on the 17th August) so it's lovely to be able to look back at it week by week and see how much I have actually done! I'll be alternating it with another new project for the next couple of weeks, dedicating one evening to each (tonight will be the other, tomorrow will be this, etc) because I've got a small sampler I want to do and sew to the front of an apron to make a pocket. I asked for opinions on livejournal and facebook as to whether I should do it that way or just sew it on as decoration and got a resounding answer in favour of the pocket, including from my aunt - who is going to be visiting in a couple of weeks for her birthday, and I'm hoping to cook dinner for everyone and have the apron ready to show off!

Not much progress to report this week I'm afraid, I was working on another project, a small sampler, on Saturday, which is usually one of my busiest stitching days. I'll be alternating days between that and this until the sampler's finished, so this might continue to move slowly for a week or so, when normal service should be resumed

If things go according to plan I might actually get to meet Sam this year (I have to email my brother about the plans first!) so will hopefully manage to get to measure him with this height chart. If I ever need motivation to keep going with this, that's it right there!

Naturally, things aren't going to go to plan, as my dear brother and his fiancee have to do things about ensuring their future livelihoods this September to November and we were thinking of visiting in October.

We're looking at visiting next year instead, for my 30th birthday
