The little bird is done - only the leaves are left. He was such a fun to stitch, really. If you compare it to the picture from the kit, the reds and pinks are much stronger. I don't know how lifelike it is but I like the shading a lot.

I am almost done, just a few more leaves to add. I think I will have a finished picture today.

But! I am so stupid. I am making this for my boyfriend who is an ardent birwatcher and this is his favourite bird, and wanted it to be a surprise so didn't tell him anything about it. I was sure he would not come and browse the forum. But I forgot that I have to put up the photos in my photobucket album - and he saw that last night. So the surprise is spoiled :( But he liked it anyway... :)
