I signed up for Picture That Plus' Vikki Clayton silk thread monthly auto, and got my first shipment today--9 lovely shades of mauve in solid and 4 variegates in gold and brown. I plan to use them on my next project. I don't know what that is yet, but I'm sure by the time I get around to it, I should have collected enough to get me started. :)

I got the rest of my oriental kits from 123stitch.com. I also picked up some 28ct Jazlyn fabric in English Rose and Amaretto and some charts from Hershner's.

Your wish is my commend

There are the solids: 8 WinterBarries and a Golden Spice. Aren't they lovely?

And these are the variegated, from left to right: Cocoa Bear, Dragon Breath II, Golden Nectarine, and Nisseness:

The variegation on these threads is subtle, though.

Lovely! The variegation is subtle but that's what makes it look great in larger areas, just that very slight change in colour to break up the solidity.

I hadn't realised Vikki Clayton's threads came on spools/bobbins as well, I've only ever had them as skeins. How much is on each one of them?

I think she changed her packaging from skeins to spools now. These are 8.7 yds (approx. 7.95 meters), same as DMC per skein. Picture This Plus sells them at $1.65 per spool for solid and $2 for variegated. But as a subscriber, I get 13 spools each month and only pay for the price of 12 ($21.2) :D

Got Stoney Creek's full year of 2004 on E-bay (it has some lovely charts that am already itching to stitch!), consisting of 6 magazines, for less than 2 dollars.

Got new needles, needle case, needle organizer.

Got another bobbin box, more plastic bobbins, DMC number stickers, and part of the thread for the Starry Starry Night HAED and am waiting for two pieces of fabric.

I was hoping this would come on friday, but I think with the postal strikes lately it got delayed a bit. But I finally got my aida for my projects. YAY!! As you can see both are 18 ct aida with 1/4 yard in white and 1/2 a fat quarter in brown. The perfect brown for my new project. And two skeins of 738 DMC.

Surprise, surprise. The next model arrived today. This one was actually started by the designer, but it's taking her longer than she wants it to. She also wants to focus more on designing than stitching. From the way she was talking, I figured she had less than half of it done, but it is actually about 2/3 of the way done. It'll go on the scroll frame as soon as DS's eagle is done in the next couple of days.
